@shifty` and anyone else. I have been using chemical guys leather cleaner and then conditioner on our seats, but am not blown away. Before this I used Lexol, but its a pita and I think they changed their formulation. Anybody have anything they use that they like better? TIA

5.29 is pretty intense for our OD ratio. But will be killer for low speed stuff.

Have you been to visit him yet? The Outer Banks are great. The island we go to is only accessible by a ferry that we have to reserve in advance.

This was our closet neighbor last time. One of the last places on the east coast you can feel like you're just about alone.

This rolled thru Reddit today - if a human can do this, imagine what AI will be able to do in a fraction of the time....

    https://www.reddit.com/r/TikTokCrin...ember_kids_the_internet_is_a_dangerous_place/

I bought this back in early 2019 and have been using the hell out of it. Sources that produced this are the same that produce just about anything you'll find at HF. And the reality is, while this is discontinued under the farcical name "ROVSUN" on scAmazon, you'll see the exact same model with slightly different stickers all over. Needless to say, it's the right size a whole monojet would fit into it. Whatever you do, respect the fill lines on the unit. And I also recommend if you're working with something extra greasy, get cheap tupperware, put the parts in the tupperware with your cleaner (I usually use a TBSP or so of the alloy-safe purple Simple Green), fill the unit with water, then put the tupperware in its water bath. Ultrasonic travels thru the plastic w/o issues. Will add longevity to your stainless basket. And always wipe clean after, because China's idea of "stainless" is a joke. I use the crap out of mine for old bike parts to get the spic and span, and also run my old lawn mower carbs thru it and bake out the water after.

Oh and @Mr Badwrench I'd argue monojet is the more difficult one to dial in, I found popular 4bbl and 2bbl easier in comparison. Dunno. Monojet's aren't hard, you just need to follow general consensus on a starting point, and work from there.

It's totally worthwhile! The kids were super stoked after the trip to NorCal, all the hikes. Just be mindful of ticks. I had no idea they have 100x more ticks over there than we do here on the east coast. Seems to be worse in grassy areas - speargrass lined a lot of the trails we hit outside of coastline, and those seemed to be the worst for ticks. We weren't even deep in the trails, on the paved paths, just brushing up against grass in the narrower areas led to finding ticks on us and the kids.

I uses Lexol for a long time, it works great. But I prefer the smell of Meguair's "Gold Class" product and it's only a little less effective. That ultimtely means I'm using Lexol annually and Meguair's for the fill-in.

    Short waves, short board.

I'm not much of a ripper, and find longboards much more enjoyable in shorty surf like that.

Hell yes. That's probably about 60% of what those boxes cost brand new, and you could probably sell any vintage tools found in there to recoup half their ask price.

@txagg heres the rundown on product I primarily use on our vehicles. FWIW I’ve also tried the Black Magic leather cleaner (“2 in 1”?) and I’m not a fan. Just seems to shine more than anything, doesn’t clean well, and smells a lot like cheap cinnamon to me.

This doesn’t include polishes, just what I wash and clean and treat with.

Nope. Got some details? FWIW I’ve never seen it in the store either. And for full disclosure, what I use in cars doesn’t match what I use on leather saddles.

Here’s what I use on thicker leather like you find on saddles, belts, etc.

No, I was just asking because I had looked into it in the past. They were touting themselves as being better than Chemical Guys and I was curious if anyone else had tried them.

I’ve tried quite a few of Chemical Guys products. The only product I’ve found of theirs that’s really decent is their Hex Logic hand sponges. Great for polishing and buffing effectively in odd, hard to reach places. They do a great job. I haven’t found any cleaners or treatments or other agents of theirs I find any better than anything else. And honestly, the incel/misogynist dude they have (or had) repping their products in online videos was a schmuck, I don’t know how you hire someone like that to represent your brand.

When I get back to a real full size screen I’ll hafta see if I can find one of the videos I’m talking about, the guy is some d-bag from Jersey or NY based on his accent.

That’s awesome! Ya we go out there at least once a year. I love it out there, been debating whether or not to make a move over to the east coast. Wish California was like that.

All that matters is just having fun. I love it, nothings better than a little salt water therapy

Hell yeah. Helped me make it thru high school at least. As long as there aren't any finned teethy friends or spawns of jellyfish everywhere it's gold.

Hell yeah, did you not have a very robust tool collection prior?

If the boxes themselves are the nice drawers with ball-bearing slides, total score. I've posted my older Craftsman stuff on here before, they make really gd solid stuff for a fraction of Snap-On prices.

Don't get me wrong: Depending on the brand, I'm sure those torque wrenches are saving you $$$. Hopefully the previous owner did 'em right and set them back to zero after each use.

I've been in Vegas for 2 days, first time and I hate it. Thankfully we're leaving tomorrow for the Grand Canyon.

Coolest thing so far was the Titanic Exhibit.
