The Tundra oem wheels are 60mm or 2.4”

So +30 offset wheel that’s 8” wide will bring you 1.25” out. But most aftermarket wheel will be 8.5” wide so give yourself another 1/4”

Is there a list of people somewhere with 37’s on 3rd gens?

Looks great! Would love to see some side pictures. All stock suspension?

I’m trying to find someone to get me to similar alignment specs.

Hey all, I am looking for advice a new realm of tires. I am stuck between duratrac 275/70/18 D,bfg ko2 285,70/18 E and yokohama mt 275/70/18. They weight difference is about 10lbs. What I am most interested in is the ride quality of either. 10ply we Do either tires ride well on a new to me crewcab tundra? Do either kick the mpg much?
Thanks for chiming in, this is my first full size truck and I am Stuck on what to choose.

Can you send or attach a few more pictures? Like full side profile so i can see the rake (if any)? I don’t want to level or swap wheels but just add a little taller tire. This looks like a good setup.

here you go, I have a platinum with advanced package so it’s already pretty level, this set up is good for those that want a little nicer bigger tire that looks better but still is p rated , light and rides and mpg like stock, it hardly weighs more at all , like 6 lbs if that. They are 33” ATs

first pic is before tint, shot in my garage is after tint

My first post on this forum showing off my new 23 Platinum 4x4. I had the dealer install the TRD 3” lift before I took delivery and installed the wheels and tires the day I got the truck. No rubbing from what I see so far but have yet to take it off road. On full wheel turn, check out how close the tires get to the sway bar and that metal body mount extension. As you will see in one of the pictures, I did pin back the lower section of the wheel liner to a metal bracket behind it. I wanted 35’s but did not want a lot of poke. This is just about perfect for me.

    Toyo Open Country AT 3’s. 35x12.5 r18, D rated 66 lbs
True size listed on Toyo’s site is: 34.5 x 12.5

Well here it is! Nitto Recon Grappler 295/70R18 116S rated tire. It really filled out the truck well. Much better than the OEM Wildpeaks. So far no road noise or rubbing lock to lock. Grip is fine on the street so far. Acceleration and response are a little slower. Steering is heavier. I just did a tank fill up and installed some TRD Air Filters. I does appear I have lost about 2 mpg avg. My 90 percent city / 10 percent highway has gone from 15-16 avg to 13-14 avg. Oh well.

Fun thing I noticed. So, although this is not scientific, before I put these tires on, I ran my phone GPS speed against my speedometer. Interestingly I had found that my speedometer was faster than my GPS speed, by about 2 mph avg. When I upgraded to these tires, my speedometer and GPS speed are now matching. Guess I won't need to recalibrate the speedometer anymore.

Maybe Toyota had already predicted the possibility that an owner would eventually uprate their tires from stock and calibrated it faster than what is real for that very reason.

Weird, my 35's slowed my speedometer by 2 MPH. I have the digital dash speedo like yousr as well. Has anyone successfully had theirs recalibrated? I found that it was a lost cause in my 3rd gen Tacoma. No dealer wanted anything to do with it and I couldn't find any real aftermarket solutions.

get the largest, lightest tire you can. heavier- worse MPG's. Do you tow or drive hard off-road? if so get the heavier, burlier ply wall tires

I think I'll pull the trigger on the Duratrac d load tires 275s. The vehicle is going to be mainly street and no towing, some camping. I have an old jeep to beat up on the trails so this struck stays nice for the family.

also you are usually saving upwards to 50-100 per tire going from e>d ratings

d's are easier to air down and softer and get a better foot print off roading, but if you are pulling a heavy load e's are better.

Have you had the duratracs before? For a rig that's mainly street, I would steer clear of those. Personal opinion, but they get loud, fast. I've had quiter full blown mud tires than a half tread duratrac. I'm having the same issue with the cooper ST Maxx tires. They cup really easy and have one hellacious amount of treadgrowl. Definitely better options out there.

Actually, these would be my third set. I had two sets of them on an old cherokee, they were fantastic winter and wheeling tires. This was obviously a c rated tire so much softer than what the truck will use, I could see a stiffer tire causing more noise, these tires are quite aggressive. I almost went with the Yokohama geolander MT, but I found a youtube video of a fella that dropped from 24avg mpg to 19, just from installing 275/70.18s. I assume rolling resistance of such an aggressive tire will do that. I hope the Duratrac are a good compromise to get a tire that is aggressive and well road mannered, plus not being an E load rated tire. My truck will never be used for towing and the weight/ lack of drive quality from a harsher E load tire, did not appeal to me. I just don't have experience with them and I did not want to be disappointed with the new tires. These needed to be snow worthy and dirt capable for CO. We have a 6 week old I'm trying not to bounce around to bad.

Isn’t this a 52.5lb tire? Seems like you should be getting better MPG than that. I went with a 68lb KO2 tire and am getting over 15MPG. I figured with the 116s option in the recon grappler you would not see as much change in the steering and response time.

just curious because I almost went with that tire.

driving style, area you live and speedlimits play a big big role in mpg. our highway speed is 80 and if you dont drive 85+ you're gonna get run off the road

Awesome. The duratracs are definitely good for snow and dirt roads. I know a lot of people talk about them like they are A/T quiet and I definitely don't want anyone being led astray in that sense. Please report back on how the load D tires treat you.

    I went from a 305/70/18 Recon Grappler 68 lbs
To a 315/60/20 57 lbs also Recon Grappler and picked up on average 2mpg.
With the heavier rim it ended being about 7 lbs per wheel but still picked up 2 mpg. What also helped us the s or D rated is a harder tread so tires are not as soft as a E rated tire. Soft tires kill fuel mileage also. Yes the harder tread does just fine in the rain zero issues.Def rather have a heavier rim the heavier tire. The farther out the weight gets the worse off mileage gets. It makes a diff.
Recon Grapplers make zero noise and are an extremely aggressive looking tire! Luv them.
Def go D rated. Check out the 295/70/18 in the recon grappler.
295 looks so much better then a 275. Even the 285. Not sure you will be happy with 275 size. Only one size up from stock and the stock tires look sooooo small on our trucks.

Unfortunately most of my driving is city stop and go, light to light. So that burns gas starting and stopping all the time. I try to keep off the boost, make sure I am coasting and try to get the hybrid drive system to engage when I can.

Hey guys I had ordered wheels and tires back in November of last year and the wheels are still on back order with no eta. I was updated that I could get the wheels in -12 offset instead of +1. My question is will that mess me up for fitment? I have a leveling kit 17x9 wheels. And 35x12.50 a/t tires for a 2wd 2010 Toyota tundra.the tires I have on my truck now are almost gone so I’m really hoping I can get the -12 offset instead of having to buy used tires for my stock wheels. Sorry just realized this is for newer tundras…

No worries and yes you’re going to rub with a -12 and have a lot of poke. Like a solid 2.0 to 2.5 inches…of poke!

Rim size 17/18/20 with a +18/20 is perfect. About 1/4 to 1/2 inch of poke

    On my 2022 I never hit anything on a +20 18x9…and 295/70/18 basically same as the 35.
But my friend also has a 35 inch tire on a 0 offset 17x8.5 rim and he rubbed in the front and rear on his 2022…
