Keep in mind the sun-out days haven’t been warm. It is relaxing and getting flatter with each day nonetheless!

Towed with it for the first time. Towed/sold my sisters car and drove it about an hour to meet up with the buyer. Towing was a breeze!.

When I got home my rough country tonneau cover was here waiting for me so I installed that. Pretty easy install.

Does the black accents on the platinum match the body paint or is it different?

How did you attach the quickfist to the drop-in bed liner? I am unsure of how sturdy the liner is and if you had to add any support on the back side. If you added support, how did you do it? Thank you for all of your posts. You are most helpful.

It's not a bed liner but composite bed itself. Pretty solid. And btw you still can access the back of it if needed.

Own a black platinum iforce max also. Black accents... like edges of the taillights, 3rd brake light assembly? Rear bumper inset panels? None of that is color matched for me. The rear bumper sections being the part I’m least fond of. The gloss black plastic pieces on the outside match nicely.

Did you use rivnuts like you did in other mods, self-tapping screws? TIA.

I mean like the fender flares, top tail gate piece on the outside. On platinum those are black painted and didn’t know if it was the exact color the black is on the tundra or if the outside is running two different paint codes

    Ah, got you!

both are a good match on the black. Really blends in… but the metallic flake isn’t there.

100% accurate answer: not an exact match. But definitely doesn’t stand out as different.

for me, the worst culprit for paint not matching is this.

the gloss level is not quite right. Whereas the fenders and tailgate top match much better.

Works like a charm. I've had mine for a year now. I opted for the cellular option so there is a 4G antenna that gets stuck under the dash and facilitates remote start thru the app. You could always add this after the fact as well. It works out to a fraction of the cost that Toyota charges ($2.75 a month / 3yr $99 - first year is included w/ purchase), and the truck doesn't shut down when you open the door. Before someone asks.. no, you can not drive off without the key inside the truck.

The downside? Install is a bit involved. I wouldn't recommend it to the novice as there is some splicing and soldering involved with 3 different modules and some very small gauge wire. Screw that up, and you're about to have a very bad day! Instructions could have used a little work but I'm sure they're improved by now. I actually sent them some pictures to help with their instructions and they were very receptive. There is no reason the kit couldn't be plug and play aside from sourcing the oddball connectors. With a little luck, they'll one day have a plug and play kit for the 3rd gen.

Good. You hear more of the turbo and the air. My engine noise is off. I haven't tried it with the side cover off cause it's so hot here right now.

I got it straight from S&B. Much cheaper than afe and supposedly more airflow. The install is a little more involved than the afe one though because it's the whole tube. I spent longer on the install than I should have, but it was mostly my own fault. Make sure you push the tube all the way down on the throttle body. It's hard to tell, but if you don't, the mount bracket doesn't line up right and it's impossible to mount correctly. Also I lost a 10mm socket in my engine bay .

I see you used a bracket of some kind to attach the QuickFist clamps. Did you make them or was it something you bought? I want to do the same, but don’t want to install the expensive molle panels. Thank you.

It was a lot easier that I first thought…watched a YouTube video and followed his steps….yes the handles will be the final chrome removal…i purchased the Amazon handle covers but they look a little bulky for me…maybe I’ll put ‘‘em on eventually

Where did you get the black trim from and can you post a link to the YouTube video?
