Yeah, I do like me some freshies. That was off the coast of Baja last October on a 7-day trip. 254#.

I like river fish also! This steelhead is on the Nestucca, which is NW Oregon.

Albacore are abundant during our summers here in Oregon. We’re live bait fishing out of the Columbia here:

Having been a diesel performance enthusiast for over 20 years, I vote for a dyno run off! Not very scientific but they are great fun!

My 17 FFV always started with authority on 87 and about the 4th Tank of Premium it quit revving up so high on start up. I was always taught to let one idle until the oil pressure tops out and refrain from racking off the Keith tunes until the temperature gauge is mostly up. :burnrubber: I buy Lucas by the gallon and use Amsoil Signature series 0W-20 with Amsoil filters

Odd, since the ECM tells the engine to rev “x” rpm higher for a specified amount of time on startup. This possibly changes based on engine coolant temp, but I don’t believe octane is read or able to change this parameter. At an idle, there is likely no appreciable difference in timing…

Just sayin’. If you want the truck to idle up higher or lower, or for a different amount of time, you will need a tuner. Not high-test gas.

It’s possible that whatever tune you have from Keith may have altered this table.

I have a BAM stainless 8 set up. No tune yet I've been following you guys on the HP Forums and what ever is going on it appears that something has been learned. Last year I cleaned the throttle body and it wasn't terrible but needed cleaning. I may get a can of that MAF cleaner and take a look at that and see if the idle changes in anyway. It is possible that temperature has more to do with the way it cranks over. I enjoy reading SAS remark's and comment's on Flex and goofy stuff

Good on you for cleaning the TB! It’s an easy chore that many are too intimidated to take on. While you’ve got it out next time, you can consider bypassing the coolant line that runs through the throttle body. If nothing else, it will make it easier to remove the next time you want to clean it! I understand it also adds 70 HP:)

MAF sensor is easier to clean than the TB. No scrubbing! Just get the correct cleaner and spray ‘er down. Let it dry and reinstall the same way it came out.

I’m loving the info that is available on the HP Tuner forum. The members have been super helpful and gracious with my mediocre level of knowledge on that system. With their help, and some of them are fellas from here, I’ve gained confidence to keep plugging away with small deliberate tune changes so I can dial this pig in. It’s a bit of a long process, but the help is available when you get stumped. You just have to ask.

Everyone should have an HP Tuner…
