I picked up this truck today (3/24) to replace my totaled Ram truck. I am still working to see what can be moved over from the Ram and what I will need to sell/replace to get this back in the woods quickly. I am a long time forum guy, but new here and new to Tundras. Here is what I just loss due to a distracted driver.

Emailed Retrax and Amp'd about moving my stuff over to the Tundra. Hopefully they have a solution.

Also got my swing cases put in today.

Yeah it books fast. We have a spot in June. I think I saw somewhere that it's one of the most popular in the state. What area do you live in?

 

It does, being a country resident gets me preferred bookings, but even then its fast filling. I live 30m north. If you are coming down and want to meet up for drinks (not on site obviously... kidding, coozies) or anything let me know. I am a local to the area and kayak, boat, bike and fish the immediate area.

If nothing else, i can crash your site and bring some meats to grill for a bit lol...

 

I'm on the very north end of Pinellas Park myself...66th st and Bryan Dairy Rd area. Alot of Tundras around here for sure.

 

Thats funny, as much as I have read your posts on here, i did not realize you are so close!

I live off 94th and MLK. Raised in IRB at the end of 102nd. Play everywhere in between. My brother lives by the old wagon wheel and I am going over there tomorrow for some venison from my freezer.

coming from the Ram side, it is amazing to see the amount of Tundra activity down here.

 

Nice! Yeah I think I'm the only really active member from Pinellas County on here lol. There are a couple of guys a little further south that are active. Yeah there are 6 Tundras within 1/4 mile from me lol.

 

Sounds like I may be coming for your title lol..... I am active, but havent moved into the daily discussion areas yet. I have been focusing on the recovery from my wreck and figuring out ways to salvage my overland gear from the Ram. I am trying to keep my roadtrip on schedule so its been a ride lately.

I am trying to get my setup back on so I can get some camping in sooner than later, but usually I am on the softball sidelines and other extended family things.

Turns out my new retrax pro and amp power steps are useless for the conversion. So once I can post them, they are gone.

 

What a day.....

Started with a simple, "I will install a couple pieces of the chrome delete" and turned in to a whole thing... so first off, interior chrome delete:





by the way, pop these off and clean under them... the joys of buying used LOL

Finally got the ram mount mounted. Looking for a different option for the quad lock, but this will work for now.

 

Out with the old and in with the new.

Offered up the rear floor mat to anyone local wanting it for free. No hits yet but who knows.

 

As I near closer to the departure date, I got impatient and decided to get stuff out of storage and on the truck even though I am waiting on my cover still. Things buttoned up nicely and I can tell this bed is smaller than the Ram's for sure.

Next up is to get some hard cases and mounts for the side to mount the things I will want easier access to for the trip. Much more than I will keep on there day to day, but for the road tip I do not want to keep digging in the bed.

 

Just ordered the pop n' lock for my tailgate. Was super happy to see that as an option since I am used to tailgates locking with the truck.

Also, researching the options for mounting potable water to the truck for the upcoming roadtrip. Coffee will be a must after months of sleeping in the roof top tent is on schedule.

They have the 5 Gallon Roto Pax that'll mount on the side of the rack?

 

I will look for that. Currently I am eyeing the white 2.5 with the spigot attachment. I have the waterport, but I use that to rinse off after fishing or kayaking, so I havent been focused on keeping it potable water based.

 

Someone didnt look for instructions first...... I will let you guess who...

So I got it through the tailgate and wired, but I still need to run the rest through to the cab. To hot out and to much blacktop. I will wait till I can get it to my shop and use a lift.

 

Stopped in to a local shop today to make some plans for this truck's future... Ended up get great customer service and had to buy something on my way out...

Nice! I've wanted to get the pop lock for security or the little lock cams atleast.

My trucks there now actually, Just got off the phone with Jimmy 10 mins ago. Had an issue with my alignment they are fixing for me.

Luckyy, I want one lol Makes sitting things on the tailgate much easier and stable too. Now you're about to make me buy one after work

 

Great shop as you said! Dude was great to talk to as well. I was just seeing what he had and talking through what I want to do, but I didnt expect to buy anything that day lol.

I bought the last one he had in stock.... Which I still blame you, but I do look forward to the next trip out with it.
