CT also makes you pay commercial registration on trucks and SUVs. So $250 every 2 years plus state and town property tax every year. Paid 6.35% sales tax on 1st registration (would have been 7% if thr truck sold for over $50k), and it's probably gonna be $1k in property tax each year for a while.

This is true. However, if you have a permanently mounted shell, they’ll change the registration status from ‘commercial’ to ‘passenger’ vehicle and negate the commercial fees. But then you can not remove the shell….. legally

 

What if you just remove the rear glass?

In TX the value of the vehicle only matters the first time you register it because there's a tax. It's like 9% so I paid $260 IIRC to register my 03 when I first bought it, because I paid $2800 for it. And the truth is I could've told them I paid whatever and they'd have to believe me. Normal registration after that is like $75

 

What a messed up year. I've averaged a body recovery once every 3-5 years. I'm on number 3 in the past two months. Is it winter yet?
