I am undecided on installing my jb4, given if I do have a failure I’ll be out of pocket for the cost if Toyota pulls the logs.

I also am really disappointed with their Velcro mounting solution. Where are people mounting these things???

Are these driving modes linked to the map levels? As in, when you change the mode the map level changed as well?

Yeah the new firmware can have maps attached to drive modes.

I am glad you mentioned this, I have a 2023 SR Crewmax and was thinking of getting the JB4. Perhaps they’ll make one soon.

Installed. I’ll include a fuse box cover that I mounted it to since the default solution is trash.

Now that’s a good deal, I’m going to purchase a new fuse box for this very reason.

I’d jump on it, I wouldn’t even think about it. Send that DM boys!

The truck makes enough power stock that it doesn’t seem worth risking my warranty and the added running cost of higher octane.

I have nothing bad to say about the tune or added power. Nice product from that perspective.

Just curious if anyone made a 12 hour roadtrip straight through with the JB4 Tuner on the truck. The only time the truck would be stopping is for gas or bathroom usage. The reason I am asking is because in the past, after a 2 hour drive with the JB4 Tuner, the JB4 Tuner module is extremely hot. I'm just curious on how it stands up to the heat for a 12 hours straight road trip.

Mine is in all the time, no issues at all. Actually to clarify, I’ve done a 13 hour trip and it has been fine. Grant you it was a couple months back and not as hot.

but JB4 has been around for years, not only used in the Tundra but other males and models.I’m sure Burger Motorsports has done their R&D…

Thanks for the perspective. The JB4 is currently uninstall from my truck and I have it listed for sell. I took it off when I took the truck in to the dealer for the 15k miles maintenance. I haven't put it back on yet. If the module don't sell in a few weeks, then I will keep the module and put it back on the truck for the road trip I have plan at the end of July.

@TSS Army Green I've taken many long road trips. Farthest from Palm Beach, Florida to Canton, Ohio. I want to say somewhere around 20 hours. No issues.

Multiple trips from Ohio - Illinois roughly 8 hours a piece. No Issues.

I have my box sitting loose behind the fuse box. I'd imagine the box is probably hotter parked in Florida, then running on an open highway with airflow..

Thanks for the perspective. Your experiences makes me feel better about going on this long road trip with the JB4 installed.

I've driven in 115° ambient temps around town all day and never had any issues. Going on 2 years in September...jb4 is velcro'd to the side of the underhood fuse box on drivers side. You'll be fine

Per JB4’s website, they say up to 75 HP Crank/60 HP Wheels (although they have a typo in the bullet list below saying 75HP to the wheels). Has anyone done a dyno test to see what the real differences are say on map 2 or 3? I’m assuming these figures are map 5.

... 'on a completely stock car on pump gas, gains with bolt-on parts, higher octane, E85 mixtures, and larger turbos are even higher.'

From what I gather, that claim is for just a simple map, but unsure what map. The way it's worded would lead me to believe that these claims are on map 1, but would need clarification from Burger on this. Could always ask on their forums? Terry is good at responding to questions on there.

I question the way it’s written as I find it hard to believe that +3.5 psi on map 1 will generate 75hp at the crank.

Anyone installed the JB4 oil catch can on their Tundra?

catch can are great and keep your intake clean. I have one for my Tundra, kinda sketchy, don’t wanna void my warranty.

I have a catch can for my Mustang, had it for about 40k miles. Had kept me intake rather clean. I know they work and do believe in them. Even more so for this turbo charged engine.

I have one on my Tundra installed a couple months ago. I don't see how they can possibly void warranty with that but as long as your dealer is not an asshole, you should be ok. I've got S&B intakes, aFe Charge pipes, catch can, and JB4. I normally unplug my JB4 and remove for service as it's a 2 minute thing to do.

Have you emptied it out yet? If so, was there a lot of oil in there.
My Mustang does accumulate a decent amount after about 5k.
