Just picked up my '23 Limited and I'm curious as to what the advantages are of connecting to the home WiFi, if any.

You can get over the air updates from Toyota if and when connected to home WiFi. That's all I can think of...

I believe you'll get over the air updates with or without your truck connected to wifi... It has its own mobile data connection for updates

The way I understood it, after your initial free ATT connection is up, if you don’t renew updates come from your home WiFi if connected and after that from your phones data. My 2016 Taco pulls updates through my phones WiFi in the driveway but gives me the option to use cell data.

This would be a great question to double check.

My Tundra 2022 infotainment system got an update while I was driving few months ago, I thought that it downloaded it over the air...

Does anyone know answer for this please?

It would over the air if you were still in your Toyota Connect grace period or you are paying for Toyota Connect.
