Exactly. People are freaking out they used a game controller. I can personally attest game controllers these days are crazy reliable. It took me 5 years to wear out an Xbox controller.

Why are we not asking about emergency beacons? Why wasn’t there a beacon designed to deploy automatically after a set period of time or after a series of predetermined events?

I don't envy you. I've got 10 years to go based off what you guys were saying yesterday.

Not to mention, you get a murky, shitty view of the wreckage out a small window. Sitting on the couch, watching it in HD would of been the better move here.

IMO it’s a tomb that should be respected as such. Not a ride at Disneyland. I agree a HD video is much better.

I agree on the HD video and was one of the first comments I made when I heard about it. You would think that if they are smart enough to make tons of money and have an extra quarter mil lying around to pay for a seat, they would have some wits about them when looking at that thing and go "no f'ing way".

That boat landing was example a, b, and c of why I will never own a 2wd truck. Backed the boat in fine, started to pull forward and immediately started digging down. Popped it in 4wd, problem solved.

I avoid those threads like the plague. I'm sure for someone who lives in a big, warm climate city and never leaves said city a two-wheel drive would be fine but there have been an unbelievable amount of times over the years I would have been stuck without 4wd. Hell, there's been many times I even wouldn't have been able to make it to work without 4wd.

IMO, those who say "I don't need it" are making a self-excuse to not spend the extra money on it. My motto is "better to have and not need, then need and not have."

I'm gonna be honest for a moment (don't get used to it).
I found (4) 2019-2021 DCLB Tundras that were worth considering for purchase. From NY, to FLA, to TX, to Idaho. One was a bust, 2 got snatched up while I was on the phone asking questions about them and one didn't respond. I found 2 low mile, white 2wd in VA and immediately put a deposit on one then flew down and drove it home. Didn't even test-drive it.
I initially wanted a 4wd, even though I rarely used it on the last 2 Tundras. But I needed a vehicle yesterday and the way things were going, it was snatch up that 2wd or go without. A 2021 DCLB with 4k mi and zero rust? Never find one of those again.
That said, I own it now, so I'm on team 2wd and gonna talk mad shit. :argue:

That's not unusual for submersibles . The Swedish submarine rescue vehicle I worked on about ten years ago used this to control the vessel. It got upgraded to a video game controller during the refit/lifetime extension work.

Yup. Game pads have millions in R&D that has gone into them. Designed for long term use and accuracy with pleasant ergonomics. I see no problem adapting them for other viable uses.

I haven't heard much about the idiotic, racist comments the moron CEO made about not wanting to hire experienced sub operators because they were all 50 yr old white guys.
