    Hey all,

    Posted about this on the suspension page last night but had the recommendation to move it to the 1st gen specific page.

    I'm almost finished with my 2005 Double Cab build/lift and have come upon an issue I can't find that anyone else on here has had.

    I received the truck with 265/70/R17 (one size up from stock?) tires, on stock rims, and had absolutely no frame rub before my lift. I have since completed a suspension upgrade with Bilstein 6112's set for a 2" lift (#8 drivers, #6 passengers), as well as a SPC upper control arm, and new lower ball joints. Also did an add-a-leaf in the back.

    Just had it aligned at Les Schwab, and now I have front frame rub on both sides in full crank. How could this new and lifted setup, with the same tires as before, now have frame rub for the first time? My only guess is an alignment/camber issue? They did not touch the camber adjustment on the SPC upper control arm. Is the issue potentially that I had that pushed inward too far (it's about half way) going into the shop and they adjusted the bottom off of that? Could I gain more clearance by pulling this adjustment outward and then having it realigned?

    Thanks for any input. Below are my alignment results.

    @assassin10000 is our alignment guru.

    It is odd that you are rubbing with 265's. Most of us only kiss the frame with 285's.

    It’s probably because as you lift the truck the wheels get sucked into the wheel wells further so if you’re using the same wheel setup as before they are now sitting closer to the frame after the lift

    Probably because the guys who aligned it have no fucking clue how the SPC arms work, that they're slotted, and the balljoint is clocked and needs to remain in position. Exactly what I'd expect from a chain store.

    Before you do anything, confirm the balljoint is still clocked in position "D" per the instruction sheet.

    I have those same-sized tires on my truck. When I first got them, they rubbed slightly at full turn but only on the left side, and that was when I had a bone stock suspension. Fast forward to installing 2885s and 5100s all around, somehow my tires then rubbed on both sides at full crank. I couldn't figure it out... UNTIL I got my truck aligned at my local shop. When I picked it up there was no rub whatsoever, so I would definitely inspect that the shop actually did the job and also just listen to what shifty is claiming in his post. 99% of the time that man is correct.
    EDIT: Also make sure the star plate on the SPC arms was installed right and sits flush with the groove on the control arm. I have seen two other people and myself not notice this.

    @shifty` balljoint is in the D position with the SPC logo facing out. The slotted camber adjustment was set roughly in the middle before alignment. Yesterday, I moved those slotted adjustments outward about 2/3 the distance on the slot, and took it back in for a warrantied alignment. Just got it back this morning, still having the same issue.

    @evanhmn good to know. The results are reading that all of my alignments are within range. Maybe time to bring it to a 4wd/truck specific alignment shop...

    I was gonna say, have an independent shop or Offroad shop do the alignment. They’ll actually try and give a shit. I’m guessing LS took 20mins and didn’t even realize you have adjustable uca’s.

    I have guys that work at les schwab come to the shop...

    Anyways. Looks like they just didn't use the uppers. Or don't know how to setup for larger than stock tires for clearance and work back to even'ish numbers from there.

    Caster looks good, they just needed to bring the camber in on the LF.
