Recently while on vacation, we signed a contract to sell our house. So the moving push is on.

This is the hardest part of the move...our exterior rocks. Our interior show rocks are already moved, like this:

    IMG_2049.jpg

The hard part is this 2 ton pile:

    IMG_2048.jpg

Originally, I was thinking old milk crates, but those are tough to come by that are built like they used to be (like the blue one in the picture). In the event you do find milk crates, they are really expensive.

I was just going to leave them lose on my flatbed and park it at our mountain property, but I have some friends coming in from NC that want to go off-roading, and my wife might test out the AR capabilities on the Jeep if I park it on top of the rocks.

    Ideas?

I'd rent a skid loader or a mini excavator and dump them on the flatbed. I would do everything in my power to not pick them up by hand lol. But if that's out of the question then a wheel barrel (wheelbarrow) would be your next best option

I'm using tons and tons of rock at my house for terracing the yard. I've got a little dump trailer, 5x8, that is excellent for hauling 'em. Maybe you can rent something similar.

Nope, we are selling with no house to buy. May rent or find something in the next couple of weeks.

So I have no option but to move by hand/wheelbarrow.

What I am looking for is for storage, like crates or something like that.

You know, that isn't a damn bad idea, and plenty of those for cheap.

Exactly the kind of ideas that I am looking for.

    Thank you!

I think @joonbug eats that many happy meals in a week. He can send you the boxes. Just don't forget to poke holes in 'em so they can breathe.

Common for transport of ornamental rock, is a plywood box built attached to a pallet. Requires a forklift and/or pallet jack to move around though.
