It doesn't change the time of day per se, it changes the representation of the time of day. Time is just a construct of humans to be altered how ever we need to suit our needs, and dammit I don't need to be awake at 5:30 in the damn morning in AZ.

 

Time isn't the human construct, our measure of it is. Time exists because there is space.

AZ is on permanent standard time, which means on the solstices midnight happens in the middle of the night, not an hour askew. It's the correct way. Texas has had the blinker on for moving away from time changes for a decade or so, and I wish they'd just turn the damned corner. We'll likely go to daylight time though, which is a tad disappointing.

I think about and hear about this all the time. We have a full 4 seasons. People bitch about winter, then bitch about the rain in spring and as soon as it clears up and gets hot, they're bitching about the heat. People are just bitches.
I don't bother bitching because in 5 minutes, the weather will be different.
The only thing that's a pain in the ass is when getting shit done outside weather shows up and I'm at work all week and then it rains all weekend. It's actually gonna happen this weekend. Whoever's in charge of the weather around here is a moron.
It's also kinda hard to git shit done when it's hot AND really humid. It's not fun, but it's better than not being able to git shit done because all your time outside is spent shoveling.

Austin hit its highest ever "feels like" temp today. 117. La Grange, on the other side of us was 121. I'm assuming we were somewhere in between those two numbers.
