Man, must be nice to have mail delivery directly to one's individual mailbox I have to walk 100ft down the road to the big community box and grab my shit. I'd much rather have it come to my door or driveway so I could have the opportunity to bitch about someone being impeded from doing their job because I parked like an ass.

Mailboxes are owned by the homeowners, they are just USPS approved. Didn't you buy yours?

As far as I'm concerned, I own my mailbox and I own to the middle of the road. The county and the town have a right of way.
I'd like to see a mail person just try 'n take my damn mailbox and say it's "theirs".

 

I don't have one. I go to the post office, and it is provided without charge.


As for ownership, I'm just googling stuff.

 

Only 100 feet, mine is about 300 feet and it's not a community box. My mail lady is nice , if I have a lot of mail or packages she brings them to my door. This is why I take care of her on the holidays.

I feel like I should stay home and catch the mail person just to set them straight and make sure we understand each other.

 

Who the hell even uses the mail anymore anyway? She might as well dump the mail in the trash can.

 

Right? It's all junk. Every since I put the "no unaddressed mail" stick in my mailbox, I might get one letter every few months plus the monthly tool store flyer (which makes me happy and annoys The Woman) and the monthly propaganda rag put out by my work union which I dump in the garbage can where it belongs.

 

True, there is a sizable stack of Griots and SMKW catalogs Mrs. Machine keeps asking if she can throw away. No, you cannot.

In my area if the mailbox is blocked, you'll have to go pick it up your mail at the post office, they won't deliver it nor get out of their car. I don't think they'll make a scene, that's more of a personal thing IMO.

 

Things like tool flyers must kept as reference for two reasons:

1. To double check pricing on sales and work out the pattern as to when the best deals show up

2. To track the ever rising prices so as to be able to bitch loudly about inflation.

 

That's packages coming up from the US. Tool store flyers and my union's propaganda make it just fine.

 

Not as big of a deal on quiet streets.

 

SMKW actually still has the pull out in their catalogs where you can write down your order, write a check, and mail it in.
