It's epic in an enterprise environment with 1000s on copy including leadership.

 

I only use reply all to keep the relevant parties involved. This is HR, my 2 bosses, myself, and marketing. No one else is on it.

 

I work for a fortune 5 company....used to work in email, so I've seen it all.

 

No. Politics suck. I knew HR was going to be a mess when they brought people on who 1) felt the need to send a company wide "Hi, I'm so and so" email, and 2) when their email signature had the stupid pronoun horseshit in it.

 

We have the opposite problem. We will CC our department, because we change shifts and sometimes we are gone for weeks, and some dipshit always just replies directly instead of using reply all. Then they get mad that they didn't get an answer from somebody who hasn't been in the office for a week or more.

I will never include unnecessary groups/people but, by hell, if I included them in my response don't reply to just me!

 

Are you guys that are working today getting 'holiday' pay for today???

My HR doesn’t know chit. We had a new state law go into effect a few years ago and they didn’t know anything about it. Kept getting it confused with another similar law that went into effect a few years prior. Only after I sent them the actual Bill signed by the Governor of WA did they pay attention. But then they just told me “we will benchmark what other companies are doing and then formulate a plan”.

It's way more than a Seattle thing... I believe it's becoming an industry standard for most decent sized HR departments and companies to at least 'suggest' that employees include in their sig lines...

 

Its an HR thing regardless of location. It gives them an extra stick to swing and justify their useless existence.

 

Our union is pretty strong so HR and management usual won't mess with people, unless you're a blatant tard.

 

Union's aren't much better than HR around here.

My boss and I are dealing with something similar related to the parental leave I took in April. They're misinterpreting our leave policy and telling us stuff that isn't written in there. I mean I'm fine if what they're saying is the actual policy but then they need to update the written policy to match.

 

Nope. It's the particular union's around here. They all suck. There are some mines down in SW Wyoming and the non union one has better pay and benefits than all the union ones. The unions are all about filling their pockets and give zero shits about their job.

I also laugh at the guys who reply all with "please remove me from this mailing list" like that's going to somehow magically fix things.

 

Difference here is that they can say whatever they want about the policy, but it's state law. If they tried to enforce that policy against state law they are asking for a lawsuit.

 

Every single person in our HR department apparently goes by another name that isn't remotely similar to their legal name. I didn't notice any pronouns yet, though.
