He said they were warrantied, I'd assume they just rebuilt any messed up parts and didn't swap out the housing, so that's just rust from when Cruzer sent them in.

I'm not aware of CV axles being balanced. Considering they're full of grease I think that'd be pretty futile too.

Those came off my truck and I sent it back to RCV to replace the damaged components.

Are they balanced like a driveshaft is balanced? I have no idea but probably wouldn’t be too concerned as the RPM is very low for its rotating mass.

Thanks for giving a bike a little extra space! :bikewheelie:

Pretty sure I passed you on 680 earlier this evening. Caught your plate at the last second, and took me a minute to realize where I knew it from.

Went to swap the driver side CV axle and saw this crack on the front LCA mount where my drop bracket is mounted to.

    IMG_8312.jpg

@snivilous how would you repair and reinforce this? Butt weld the crack and maybe gusset it to the crossmember?

Definitely drill a hole at the end of the crack to keep it from spreading

So I partially dropped the drop bracket, drilled a hole and trying to chamfer the crack.

Does anyone else see a dolphin with a rhino horn and goatee?

I would just cut it open with an angle grinder, chamfering it would be nice but it you just slot the crack you'll get full penetration and might be easier than chamfering. Then plate over it with a diamond or something. And inspect the other spots. That's what I would do, but I'm not a welder :D

    Little bit, lol

I don't think I'd plate that, you'd have a hard time welding all four sides with a mig anyway. Unless you can plate it from the backside and weld all 4 sides ?

Had to wait for my extension cord to finally finish this. The first pass actually went on pretty well, definitely penetrated and didn’t even need to do the back side.

Can’t really fish plate this cuz it butts up against the drop bracket so I decided to add a glob of extra metal on top  don’t know if that does anything. I just need it to survive this wheeling season.
