    From factory TRD off road package with 275/65/r18 TRD wheels;
    I have a 17 tundra with the non-trd steel skid plate. Looking to upgrade to one with the access door for oil changes and a little sturdier. The truck is stock and (hopefully) soon will be getting a slight lift for wider/taller tires.

    Will the TRD skid plate need trimming?
    Advantage of RCI vs TRD or others?
    If I get an RCI skid plate (which from what I understand is steel) how can I prevent rust vs an aluminum but not as strong as steel skid plates?

    Ideally whatever skid plate I get I want
    1) access door for oil change
    2)no need for future trim (might get skid plate prior to bigger tires)
    3)buy once cry once

    Thanks

    P.S. truck color is inferno, not sure how much of the plate will be visible after slight lift. If the plate comes non-black how cheap is it to get it coated black?

    Go RCI. They make great products. You can get it in steel or alum - I opted to go alum to save some lbs.

    Do they provide full coverage (front to rear) and do they require any trimming for larger tires?

    I just put on a full set of skids from Talons. Powder coat black steel on sale. They have substance!

    Can't say on trimming, my tires aren't gumbo mudders...
