Now this does make a good case for a new Gen3: burying a lot of highway miles on a truck.

The Gen3 should shine at 70-80mph, get good mileage, ride well, and be quiet and comfortable.

The extended cab actually is a better-looking truck, it's more aesthetically balanced. Lift your truck up 2-3" F&R, larger wheels and tires, and it would really stand out.

They look really nice with a few mods.

i would too, but my truck isn’t paid off yet. I bought during the pandemic when inventory was zilch and I got an utterly insane price for my paid-off 2008 4Runner. And I love my 2018 1794, but mulling over whether or not I want to trade up for a new one for some of the nicer features. We’ll see. I found one to test drive that comes onto the lot in a couple weeks, so I’ll take it for a spin and see how it feels.

I rarely end up with paid off cars, so that’s not the biggest factor.

Well….holy crap. This thread went all kinds of directions I didn’t expect. Apologies if I riled anyone up; I didn’t expect such ferocity to come back to (I’ve been in Yellowstone all week with no signal!). Thanks everyone for the input.

I’m pretty sure it’s the main crank bearings that have not been up to the task.

Either way, it's bad news IMO. Won't be another Tundra in my future, so not really focused too much.

It’s kinda of like the initial problems with the F35… they’re going to figure it out because their existence pretty much depends on it. I’m just not willing to participate in the beta testing.

From the front yes. It's killer. From the side and rear I still get them confused with GM's and fords from a distance. :notsure:

And to be fair, a Suzuki samurai would look awesome on 37s

To each their own. Everyone has opinions.

I'm in the 'they are ugly' boat!

Nope not me, don’t think it’s ugly and also think it’s the best looking truck on the road. I get compliments all the time, just not from other Tundra owners which is so strange. I’ve had a bunch of tundras and I loved them all like girlfriends. This one is my wife. It blows them all away in so many ways. 40k trouble free miles and just like my other Tundras it still feels brand new. Few recalls and minor quality issues but perfect right now. Love the drive, the looks, and ALL the improvements.
