I have a 2015 Tundra Limited. I had a work cap installed, and had them install electric locks on the cap doors. One of the covers fell off and I reinstalled it. While lining up the electric lock mechanism, I hit the lock/unlock on the key fob several times and my truck started.

Does anyone know how I started the truck? I can't seem to repeat it. It's not the typical lock 3 times and hold on the third press. I've tried that several times.

Depending on what remote start you have, some of them are programmable so that you can use a different sequence of button presses instead of the typical 'lock', 'lock', 'lock'.

I have one of the remote systems from @Tech12volts (I think). Mine is hit lock button 4 times and it starts. Does not turn off after opening doors. I think it is the EVO-Fortin remote start, but I could be mistaken.

Are you the original owner and know for sure an after market kit was not installed? If not try the 3 click LOCK LOCK LOCK and hold on the 3rd LOCK. With yours being a limited you may have the factory remote

You might have the stock one. Push the lock button 3 times and hold it on the 3rd. You have to hold it longer than you think. Toyota never advertised it, but lots of the older vehicles had it. My brother's 4Runner had it and he owned it for a year before he found out a bout it.

I'm not the original owner, I don't know if an aftermarket one was installed. It's not lock 3 times, it's not lock three times and hold, it's not lock 4 times, it's not lock 4 times and hold. I've tried to do random combinations of lock and unlock and nothing seems to work.

I just found my truck was setup with Lock-Unlock-Lock. Might be worth trying that. The other option is to open up the panels and see if there is anything installed.
