Outbound's 10,000th Post Fever Dream and Bullshittery Extravaganza

I had Ridgid for the longest time. They were great bang for my buck for homejobber stuff. Once I took them to work in the welding trade though, they didn't hold up.

 

Interesting. I'll be honest, I've never seen Skil cordless tools for sale here in Canada.

 

I really don't care what color they are, but a cordless impact would probably be red for me as well.

After 20 years of hard use, It's why I'm still buying them. But I respect any of the stuff except Ryobi. But, even that works. I did manage to flame a corded 11 amp angle grinder from Ridgid. But, I ran it hot and hard. User abuse.

 

I've killed so many corded DeWalt angle grinders. Oh, so many. Probably all of them.

Back to my point, as I was getting ready for T2S and burning out my grinder, I went to my backup Bosch. Job finished. So, the tools you use a lot and hard can use backups, and now is the time.

 

Yup, Ryobi is certainly Crapolla.

 

I will say my Milwaukee cut off saw sucked for holding true. Luckily my buddy was unloading his Makita.

I have an old school, made in Japan, Makita cut off saw. Works like a charm. I run a Mastercraft mitre saw due to scoring it for a great price and it's on a Ridgid gravity rise stand. My corded circular saw is Makita.

It's my cordless tools where I'm a Milwaukee fanboy.

 

I don't think they sell Craftsman in Canada any more.

At least not at Home Depot or KMS Tools where I shop for tools.

The best chop saw I've used and owned was a 12'' sliding Hitachi, even the name arouses me.

 

If we’re confessing about saws, I’ve got the DeWalt cordless 120V (dual 60V) 12” slider than has been great. But it never leaves my shop, so I really have no reason to have a cordless sliding miter saw.
Also have a nice folding wheeled stand for it.
