I purchased 2023 Platinum and the only thing I don't like, call me crazy, but the ride is too soft . I have the long bed the rear traction seems a little loose, like not that stable...Wish it would feel the road better...The other thing that was strange I drove over some highway roads that had lines cut on the concrete pavement, I guess for drainage...they looked about few inches apart and the truck would not stay straight...like swaying..plus on a highway trip NJ to Penn ... 120 miles ..70-75mph I did get 20.7mpg

Does the TRD Pro have a much different highway ride ?

    Thanks,
    Chuck

Do you have AVS? I would bet the Pro would be a little bit softer. I find the ride on my Platinum to be great, but it’s on the stiffer side. I’m sure the long bed makes for a softer ride with the longer wheelbase and weight. I would recommend just upgrading your shocks if that’s an option

My platinum does the same thing with roads that have the grooves in them. I think that comes from the tires more than the truck itself. I’m just not going to change tires till these ones wear out.

Thanks for the responses. I also think it could be the tires... I don't have AVS...so I'm really not sure...maybe shocks could be the answer..

Just seem to loose rear grip, like bouncing, not sure footed on a corner...not happy with that, but overall the truck is great.

    Thanks again,
    Chuck

It’s called road tining and some tires causes this due to the tread patterns. I had same issue with oem Bridgestone. Issue went away when I swapped to the Toyo At3.

I test drive many vehicles at my job as a tech and depending on tires installed, some sway worse then others, no matter the brand. Our test route takes us on interstate 78 where it’s mostly concrete road tining and I notice the sway issue happen especially with HT tires.

Your tires and all other tires are just tracking the groove in the road. Normal. Yes the platinum shocks are soft. The difference between the Trd Pro and platinum are night and day. One cost about $200 each and the other is like $800

    Chuck

I’ve had a platinum and a pro. Pro is only worth the resale value and out of the box paint match. Other than that it’s not worth it. Especially the non discounted 74-78k price tag average I’m seeing.

my 22 pro was 69k. Was worth it then. Sold it for $82k. Bought a 23 platinum with AVS for 70k it was a lot better. The AVS makes a huge difference in comfort. The steering is better, the black headliner is better, seats were negligible although I would say I like the softex material better because of wearability. Platinum ambient lighting is nice. Platinum turn radius is far better. TRD pro is turribull with steering.

I agree with Dr Z, I had a 22 Limited OR and the softex seats were better than my 23 Plat leather. They both had heated and cooling features, but plat has the thigh support and maybe that is the difference. Seems like an extra bar across the bottom.
