Well, I'm sitting in a tire shop getting tires put on my sister's Honda Pilot, then down the road for an alignment. Her useless tit of a husband let her drive clear across the state with two tires on the wear bars, one of which is treadless on the outside inch and a half. I'm so pissed.

 

You are a good brother.

 

I'm a dick, and this gives me a focus for my general dislike of people.

 

Idk about you guys, but I'd never let somebody I love run on this. Plus mismatched tires.

My neighbor's tires on her 4Runner should have been replaced a couple years ago. Dunno why she won't replace them. Willful ignorance I think.

My younger sister's first husband drove her car (my dad had bought her) for 30,000 miles without changing, or even checking the oil. My sister got in it to go to the grocery store one day and heard the engine knocking (Asshat hadn't said anything). 12 or 14 ounces of sludge came out of the pan when my dad drained it.

 

"Let her"? Who didn't teach her to check her tires regularly and generally take care of her own vehicles?

 

I agree w/your perspective, but while I've tried to take it upon myself to do my own teaching (mentoring as I like to call it cuz it pisses my wife off), she (my wife) starts to disconnect about 5 words into the lesson. I get done talking, and she just says, 'can you please just take care of it'...

ME: Yes Dear!!!

 

I know the owner of this Tundra with this tire. He just decided to get a "new" used tire on that corner. It left me speechless.

I got it in 2010 for about $3000 IIRC. It's a game changer when you don't have ot get out the jack and stands anymore. I do wish I had a full height lift, because you still end up crawling around under the vehicle, but it's still very nice to have.

At my old house I actually had a hole cut in the middle of the garage floor and poured a square recessed slab so the lift was flush with the floor. Even had the lines run through conduit under the slab to the control box on the wall. I hated to leave that setup behind!
