My brother used to have an 80s Toyota work truck that his company converted to propane back in the day. I drove up to Reno from Sacto with him and that thing was gutless

In-laws have this 7.3 IDI (pre-Power Stroke) 4x4 5SPD with only 140k on it. Looks like balls from a nasty encounter with a tornado, but it is a hoss.

Well, after being out of school for damn near 20 years, I just received my “midterm” score and got 100%. Granted it’s one class and only three weeks long but after one week, my head is hurting! The next two years depends on passing this one class. It’s a great feeling to finally have a direction and drive again!

My commuter truck’s a 1999 2.5L 5spd. Just as bare bones as they come. Grandfather won it in one of those Knights of Columbus raffles and I bought it off my grandma when he passed a few years ago.

Really a solid little truck. I can see how it would make a fantastic farm truck. Hell it’s smaller and cheaper than all SXS/UTVs these days!

I keep telling my cousins son if he'd come work for it, id sell it to him for cheap. But if he doesnt wanna work for it, it'll cost him extra.

i think this is the 3rd summer for that offer, and i've still got it. But its really dads truck, he inherited it when his dad died, but they dont have the driveway space. And with the 3.0/slushbox its slow and thirsty. And my dog doesnt fit in it.

You can always find low-miles fleet versions of that truck for cheap. Not sure I'd spend money on the automatic transmission version of that truck, but it's certainly convenient when tootling around on your property somewhere.

That's just like my first truck. But it was reddish orange "bright amber" as Ford called it. That thing could go over 350 miles to a 15 gallon tank. I never did push it much passed that for fear I'd break down. I don't think it had a gas light. It went through 3 alternators and a radiator in 8 years and the AC was trash. But it wasn't a bad truck.

Out here we have the “stupid motorist law”
People don’t know how to drive when it rains here, lots of people try to drive thru flooded washes and get stuck or swept away and need to be rescued; this law holds them accountable for all fees attached to the swift water rescue or whatever the case was

Their commercial general liability policy insurer is definitely going to be contacting some excess policy insurance companies today.

Damn, y'all go all-out to celebrate pride month over there, eh?
That truck would look pretty badass with the bullethole OEMs like this, or even the American Racing AR62... small cost for a huge visual appearance improvement.

@JasonC. Yea, the trans needs work, i think its galling between the housing and shift valve, common to the 5r44. It shifts hard enough to chirp 2nd. Needs a 5 speed & an esslinger 2.3.

Fuck that the Limas were crap. I don't miss the 2.5L Lima I had. Like 100hp when the AC was off. 80hp when it was on according to the butt dino and it used 8 spark plugs for no reason.
The 2.3L Duratek (I think that's what it's called, the 4 banger the ranger edges had) was the best spec of the 4's in any ranger, unless they came out with a newer one in the twilight years. I stopped keeping up with Rangers when I sold mine in 2011. I think the last year of the compact Rangers was 2012.

But a 2.3 Ecoboost would be sick in a compact ranger
