So if big and tall do not break seats on GM, Ford or Ram but only on Toyo it is still a personal problem and not a design problem? I have 20 plus years driving above average on GM and Ram without a single issue. No problem in Toyo at 8 months. If it does break it is an inferior design not a personal problem. I will be unhappy and ping Toyo until they fix and complain about it everyday if I want to on this site. My right to do so.

I think they are both great trucks as well, it would be nice if people wouldn’t shit all over others here. After all we are all tundra owners, I’ve owned 5, they were all great and so is this one so far .

It’s really well done, super quiet and has a ton of torque down low and the 10 speed is fantastic. Platinum interior is tits all while having more payload and towing than what I had before.

LOL. Taking the national average of 15k miles a year and average price of fuel of 3.50, it's about a $660 difference in a year or $55 a month. That is nothing to write home about of even have a discussion about. But hey let's keep talking about MPG on a truck forum.

Apparently in 2023 lots of people still do care enough to argue about who's MPG is better, lol. Better watch that boost, you be guzzling gas like your 2016 and you can't join the cool high MPG club. Remember that extra $55 a month could make or break you. Never mind the fact you dropped $50-70k on a truck.

My 2020 did around 27-28 mpg through the smokey mountains. Can I join the cool kids MPG club.

 

That thread, dude admitted that there are several aftermarket electronics involved. Guarantee you that’s the culprit.

Cam tower seepage is almost always not even enough to change the reading on the dipstick between oil changes, let alone drip on the garage floor.

That said, failures are rare for both gens. 3rd gen is still just a bit of an unknown, and most people are here for the longevity. Naturally there will be some hesitancy.

Totally agree that the guys coming into the 3rd gen forum to talk about how ugly it is are very uncool.

I think it's just proof that die hard fans like what they like, and given some time and verifiable results most will come around. Hell, even most of the Jeep guys eventually (somewhat) accepted the square headlights on the yj.

OP; if you're not sold on the turbo 6 yet, why not drive your current rig until it fails? Might be a month from now, might be 5 years from now. At least it should buy you time without financial outlay until something more appealing comes around. As for buying used, unless you really abuse your truck (which in your case, you might) I generally prefer the devil that I know over the devil I don't know. Just MO.

260 lbs shouldn't cause seats to creak, trucks aren't made for stick figures. Its not a Prius

People complain because they feel if they spend 60-80k on a new vehicle it shouldn't have any issues for the first 3 yrs minimum. Hence the reason for buying a new vehicle vs just buying a used beater and hope for the best.
The new Tundra has a lot going for it, just quality control is still lacking for the Toyota brand, but quality control is lacking across the board these days.

Maybe a separate section for Gen 3 owners?

 

My Mustang has been flawless for the past 50k. I purchased it with 15k. Currently has 65k.
MY19 5.0, has been serviced meticulously.

Going to service the cooling system very soon, just waiting on a few special order parts. Replacing all hoses with silicon hoses, belts & pulleys. Also a new shiny all aluminum radiator.

That Mustang I’ve taken it all over the US, Colorado, Vegas, California and from end to end of good ol’ Texas. That car has been nothing but reliable.
