    . . . . . Exactly one!

I have decided to answer the age old question for everyone via self sacrifice and sending it one last time before throwing on the RCI’s. Yup, you get one good hit and that’s it.

PSA: it’s a pain to take off once it’s at this point.

I just bottomed out with a poor approach angle moving way to fast crossing a gully/ditch. Was clay/rock.

Not surprised. The stock plate is patheticly thin.

I bent my plate up when bottoming out on my brothers crappy road to his place in the northern Minneasota woods. Good excuese to buy the RCI plate, almost worth it for ease of oil changes alone.

Is the thicker RCI skid going to cause any risk of bending something more sever (frame cross member) because it is more robust?

I bent my stock plate the first time out. Looked close to the OP’s.

Diving slowly on a pot holed section of dirt road. The left and right wheels dropped into pot holes and the skid hit level ground, hard. Stopped the truck dead in its tracks.

I too thought it’s meant to bend easily to save other parts of the truck.

I just hammered it back to shape enough so bolt holes would align. Good to go.

The stock skid plate is just a dust collector. One time use!

Kinda' like those disposable roasting pans... Yes, technically they're made of metal, and yes you can roast a bird in 'em, but then they're done.

How many licks does it get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?

I have found that the gas and transmission crossmembers have held up pretty well to my abuse. Engine crossmembers are pretty much bulletproof. Unless you’re sending it then forget about it.
