    Morning Charles @texasrho83.

How did that water pump swap go?

I feel your pain...rear bumper swap and fuel sending unit swap. Figured I would hit both of these since the bed needs to be lifted a little.

Morning Bud. I thought it would go faster putting it back in but a surprise storm came through so I had to wait that out. After I got done filling it up with antifreeze, I started it looking for leaks but heard a squeaking/chirping sound. Realized my water pump pulley hadn't been tightened as I was waiting to put the belt on and then forgot. So I tried to torque to spec but the pulley kept moving even under tension from the belt. I ended up givin it a couple quick oogas from the air ratchet and that did it. So far so good.

    20230606_095653.jpg

Even walked away with some glory marks...

Good luck with your rear end work. Upgrading bumpers?

It's always something right? Glad it worked out for you.

I smashed the shit out of it a few years ago when I still had conventional trailers. We were at a trail with a few people and were out for around 5-6 hours. When we returned...did what I normally do. No ramps and climbed up on the trailer. Come to find out rather quickly someone was attempting to steal our trailers. The hitch went into the bumper and tailgate. The bumper wasn't bad, but the tailgate was noticeable. I was a bit surprised that it held 9000 lbs and only dented it in 1/2 inch. I found a guy that buys 12 new trucks ever two years for his business and he liked white...boom. 300.00 and it was already color matched. Found a new bumper off CL for 200.00 still in the box. Transferred everything over from the factory bumper to the new shell.

Lessons learned, I now check my trailer upon return whenever I'm gone. I have already had someone pull my gooseneck lock lever. People are cocks. I also drop the hydraulic jacks and lock the bins. Added security.

    Me too!!

Got a buddy that's retired coming over to assist. Removing the bed on these trucks is easy. 4 bolts each side, two on the filler neck, and a ground strap, electrical plugs. My fuel tank level is backwards and it's annoying. When it shows empty I have 62 gallons and when the tank shows full, I'm empty.

I'd be furious to lose a trailer to a thief but good fortune is on your side I see...even in finding good deals. I could use some of that!

Like a glove. It will take some time getting used to. I will have to use 30 gallons before the fuel gauge even starts dropping. Guess I'll have a hell of a reserve.

Everyone's luck runs out at some point though. If someone was able to steal my gooseneck, I would have to spend some money.

    IMG_1618.jpg

This one is 12,000.00 and it doesn't have 8K lb axles or hydraulic jacks like my current one, which would add another 3,000.00 easy.

I've had four friends that have had trailers stolen. One of them was an aluminum enclosed 24' trailer. 20k+ out the door.
