So, I'm trying to install my new dash cam. When trying to shove the power cord behind the A-pillar trim, I just can't get it in there enough for it to stay put. I tried popping the trim off but it looks like I'll have to remove the grab handle. Is this the right course of action? Or are there better ideas out there?

(2006 access cab...I put this in the 1st gen subforum rather than the dash cam thread because I'd like to hear from 1st gen owners)

Have no suggestions for better idea when dealing with dash cam.

What I will say is when I chose to place my radio mic at top of A frame, removing the grab handle was a must in order to hide mic wire.

That's the conclusion I came too. Just got back from Home Depot because I didn't have the right size torx driver. I'll work on it in the morning when its not so darn hot out.

I used the appropriate size torx (I don't recall) with an impact driver with 50% success. I had to drill and extract the other. I got new bolts from the stealer, and they appear to be coated in some loctite like substance. No wonder they were so stubborn. I did the other side as well with the same result.

I'll be on the lookout for that. Thanks. Shortly after I got the truck, I had a Viper alarm installed. The antenna (blue flashing light thingy) is right above my rear view mirror mount. I'm assuming they ran a wire across and down one of the A-pillars. If so, maybe the bolts won't be so stubborn.

Bolts came out and went back in with no issues. Success!
