I agree George. But I guess you need to buy new taillights to do that correct? Swap out the assembly?

No mid coat. Base/clear over the sealer. I’ve sprayed it with a couple, different products and never seen a tinted mid coat option. Like I eluded to, it could be a simple way to throw the painter a bone for the extra effort to match the color. Not something I would ever attempt without blending the adjacent panels. If he nails it, good for him better for you!

    I see. I appreciate the info:thumbsup:, like I said I'm not really a paint/body guy but I enjoy learning.
I'm hoping the end result turns out nicely.

I'm starting to get the feeling that you harbour something against chrome.

I finally replaced my chrome wheels today, more on that tomorrow. Black chrome lug nuts on order. One by one the chrome is going away.

    I have the same light.

Drop the rear headliner down it has 4-6 pop in plastic clips. Then feed the wire from the light. Then across to the C pillar you can pull that and tuck the wire in. Then down the c pillar into the floor door trim.

Wiring wise I cut the factory plugs and used them on the new light. I also recommend adding black rtv. The gasket is large but for me especially here in the rain I ran some rtv. Both inside the light and gasket then outside

    What Rey said. haha!
I didn't add any rtv or silicone. I thought about doing some around the nutserts at least but since the seal that comes with the light goes around it I didn't. Makes me think I should take it back off and add some for extra assurance.

Made one myself, but man the $30 one I bought that adapts into my power drill is absolutely 150% better in every way. Now I look for excuses to use it after I mounted my cat shields, hah

I second this! I did the homemade way a few times and bought the kit. My Jeep now has far more nutserts than any Jeep needs.

You have any pics from doing where all you added it?
I feel like one weak point is where the BD lights are its just the lens to metal. The old style EVIL had used the outer cover of the BD lights but the new style doesn't. I emailed them when I got mine a couple months back bc I couldn't get covers on and they said they changed the styling and that it should be good and water tight. Makes me wonder how good it is going to be tho.
