Have a question. I get it that more tire gives you more protection for like rock crawling or heavy duty off roading but 95% of us will never do that even if we go off road. So why do so many pick 17s for rim size.
There’s a good chance wheel weights won’t clear the calipers. I wouldn’t want to take the chance… To each his own.
I’m more of a fan for 18/20s imo. To me the 17 rim looks so small for the tundra. Where the 18/20 rim just looks more balanced with the truck again IMO
But I thought maybe I’m missing something? So why 17s

My 18 on a 305 size tire. 34.8 diameter still has plenty of sidewall for any off roading unless maybe Baha lol…

Could be tire choices. For example, the Toyo AT3 comes in a tire size that really interests me (34x10.5 r17), alas, I went with 18s, for the same reason you mentioned - wheel weight clearance. I spend a lot of time on gravel and dirt roads and old timber roads. I didn't want to chance picking up small rocks, only for them to get stuck and start throwing weights.

Man they dun did it with that pic! Looks good! That’s calendar-worthy for sure.

I almost got those in bronze but thought they’d be too light, guess not. That’s an A+ photo

    Yes beautiful
What’s your lift on the Tundra?
    And the offset?
The usual mud flap remove and pin back or cut the liner?
Sorry so many questions but it’s ho we learn

Hey friend, the truck has Icon and Dobinsons components. ~3.5" front and 2" rear. SCS F5 wheels have +12mm offset. Not liner removal, just cut that rear bracket in the front wheel wells.

i just wish the candy apple tint was more red as it has a slight orange tint to them. they should have used a darker red on them.

So I just got rid of my 2007 Tundra and bought a 23 Platinum. So new I haven't even got it from dealer (having front leveling kit installed) and being prepped. Truck has the AVS system. I am wanting to replace the tires immediately and possibly by the dealer if they will price match. My issue is can I put a 35/11.5/20 Nitto Recon Grappler on stock rims it and not rub? I have searched quite a few posts and some say you can/some say you will rub. Just looking for a recent build from some who can tell me their experience on the stock rims and tires that don't rub. Saw a platinum at dealership (son of the owner) who had 35/12.5/20 Nitto and was told they don't rub-but they were trying to sell me a truck so I not if I was to believe or not. I have searched this site quite a bit and see conflicting posts. Any help would be appreciated.

Toyo 285/75/17 (34" x 11.3" tire) AT3. I opted for the load "C" as I rarely, if ever, tow our haul anything significant. If things change I'll move to an "E". Two reasons I did this 1) minimize unsprung weight and 2) a touch softer ride

Icon Compression (Bronze) 17x8.5 with +25mm offset

Between the tires and wheels I was shooting for minimal poke but looking to increase tire height and width. So this is the best compromise for my needs/wants

Stock (for now) suspension, no rub

Is anyone running 295/65/20s on their stock wheels and suspension (no lift or level)? If so, any rubbing? And what brand?

Hi all. Will these go fn wheels from a 2018 Tacoma fit the 23 tundra? Hard to pin down the exact hub bore size.

    Tundra 2022+ hub = 95.10

Can you take a pic of the front of the wheel to help identify. Need more info.

[IMG]I hope I'm doing this right, here it is, 295/60/20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers with a RC 1.75 LK. This picture doesn't do it justice. Man do I love this TRUCK!! About a 1/2" of clearance on the inside to my strut. No Rubbing and no alterations/cutting underneath to prevent any. I mentioned this last November here after I ordered the truck, I have never done anything like adding bigger tires or kits. At 5'11" I'm not the tallest guy but dang it sits up high. LOL Probably not to a lot of you but this for me is super cool first time and loving every minute so far!!!

    I’m running
    Nitto Recon Grapplers
    305/70/18
    34.8 Diameter
    12.2 Section Width
    9.85 Tread width

My wheel is a Fuel Rebel 6
    18x9 with +20 offset
I did have to remove front mud-flaps and push the back of the felt liner with some heavy duty Velcro and the very bottom rear fender well. Super easy. I’ve done no cutting of anything and did not remove the rear crash bracket that sits behind the felt.
295/70/18 is the max u can fit without any rubbing. I did it and had zero issues fitting on stock wheels but wanted a bigger tire so I went 305 and bought new rims…I didn’t want to go 37s originally because seemed like a lot of cutting and even possible bumper cutting. I didn’t want to do that…I wanted to remove the front mud flaps anyway for looks and my poke is only 1/2 inch of actual tread so wasn’t worried about the mud flap. I still have the rear flaps on so I’m not throwing rocks on anyone behind me.
