Thank you to those who recommended picking the Knob Creek 12 up. It's definitely worth $70.

Yes, KC 12 is really good juice at $70. IF you can find it again, better start hoarding. I can't find it anywhere with the exception of individual liquor stores that want $90+ for it. Just like everything else, once the word gets out...

Copy. I had heard elsewhere it was good too, maybe on Reddit or something. I'm fortunate to live in a state without markups, but it's not always easy to find things. I don't know that I like it enough to keep backups, but when I run out I'll keep that spot open for another bottle!

The KC12 I get to blame on you guys. :) The AO is a backup to the one I picked up a couple weeks ago. The initial sip on the AO is a bit overwhelming as all the different whiskies hit all at once. After it gets a little air everything spreads out and it’s very pleasant.

Not as good as Uncut Unfiltered but will say it's better after being open a while.

I’ve only had the regular Blanton’s. How does the gold compare?

Actual Friday pour. I have a couple different batches of Bookers, wish I had picked up the most recent release.

I opened the Gold Edition this evening and did a side by side taste test. The single barrel Blanton's is a smooth drinker especially since it’s only 93 proof. The Blanton’s Gold Edition has some Carmel, honey and citrus notes to it with a little more heat. The nose on the Gold has more spice and tobacco to it. Between the two the Gold has more complexity for tasting notes and depth to it. Glad I was able to pick it up at retail. Cheers!

I was able to try Blantons unfiltered, uncut and straight from the barrel. It was my favorite type of Blantons so far! IMG_5376.jpg

Picked this up today even though I am not a fan of WT products, this is really good stuff. I even did a side by side with 101 and they are very different, very nice nose, mildly sweet and no harsh grassy notes I get with most WT products.

Anyone tried Virgil Kaine bourbon? It’s local here in SC and was wondering if it’s any good.

On my Kentucky Bourbon Trail trip I purchased two barrel heads at Buffalo Trace. I had them both signed by the master distiller Harlen Wheatley and Freddie Johnson 3rd generation worker and Buffalo Trace enthusiast. These will be some cool pieces of memorabilia to have in my tasting room.
