Made some progress( in a British accent) today. Tomorrow I will make my own threaded center punch to mark my rear mount holes, and that should be about it! 04E6270D-72DE-4A89-8A65-471DEF47AF2E.jpg 5B50AB03-92AE-4200-BFE7-41FEEAF2A998.jpg 2B775BBB-C040-4E3E-ABC3-5B14F62A4D16.jpg

KK doesn't post here anymore. I think the last banstick was from failing to hold his tongue on politics. I'd need to dig back on the BST thread to confirm, but I'm fairly certain that was the final straw for him.

Swapped the passenger latch for new today. Also flipped both strike plates. Still doors close only with a slam. Thinking maybe the air vents are clogged.

I do a lot of politics as part of my daily grind and in my personal time on other websites. So as much as I’d like to come in here and “be myself” and make the jokes and share the memes I do with my normal digital “friends,” it’s kind of nice to come here and just talk about something relatively objective like trucks and NOT know who among us is a total moron and wrong about everything. :)

Finally ran a carfax on my truck. Confirmed one-owner truck, low miles and services mostly at intervals, but it turns out it lived (or at least was registered) in Ogden, UT for the first 15 years of its life before PO got permanently stationed in TX, which is where I picked it up in January.

Surface rust makes a lot more sense now.

Yeah that’s where I noticed the most. Windows down closes much easier.

so I have some very functional door latches for anyone who needs them. Just some clean and lube and probably good to go.

and I’ll have to take apart the rear to check the vents. Might order new strike plates too, though mine seem fine.

oddly it looks to me like the doors hit the plates a bit higher than center. I would have expected a small sag rather than being ass high. But it seems the primary resistance is an outward force. With one door open they close fine. Not as good as my other trucks but good enough for 20 year old lower expectations.

Pretty much done with the skid besides welding gussets in, that will happen later next week. I was a hair off center for my oil drain hole, but it’s still useable……
My threaded center punches worked just like I imagined; perfectly! I’m safe and ready for anything the road throws at me, rocks, coyotes, possibly small javalina! 6A432327-44DF-41BF-BEA4-B3A31EF9FCCE.jpgEB51898B-A461-41E4-8457-C7AF05FEC0EA.jpgC80B1F8F-4B98-4F20-86C0-563D287DBFB9.jpg

I ran a carfax on mine. Even though it’s been in 4 minor accidents, none of them are listed.

Must be the zero follow up on reinspection and the pocketing of cash for a rear bumper hit 3 separate times.

Got my headlights installed. Still need to aligned the cutoffs a touch and get a driver for the demon eyes to shut off when projector is on. Hopefully get them covered with PPF later today. Overall happy.

I'll admit, I was skeptical, but it really fits the look of the truck. Looks just as good, if not better than what @KarmaKannon built for his truck. Great work.

LMAO! It's what's on the box. I think halos are the LED rings in any shape or fashion/ with or without a shroud. Kind of evens things out of I got both right?

Wait a damn minute..did you just call me Satan spawn?:rofl:

Two different things, halos are circles around the outside of the projector, usually on a shroud, demon eyes are a small led (usually RBG) mounted inside the projector, back lighting the housing.

did you do those? I'm also in the market for some dank lights. If you'd cut the vid a sec or 2 earlier i'd have been convinced you were controlling remotely.
