Hello all, just picked up my 2023 1794 CrewMax 4x2 with the 5.5 bed and am trying to sort out the discrepancies with some of the capacities. Everything on the sticker is OK, but curb weight is what has me thinking.

Went to a CAT scale and weighed the truck with me in it. Gross weight was 5860 with full tank of gas, there was a scale literally right next to the dealership. So, 5860 - 200 (my weight) = 5660 curb weight.

The manual states curb weight is between 5160-5245. Based on the scale, I'm already 415 lbs over the listed weight.

Calculating GVWR of 7045 - Payload 1337 = 5708. EDIT: Ignore this...I just realized this is GVW RATING, not actual.

Wondering why the significant difference between the actual scale weight and the manual? Of course the CAT scale is what I'm going with since it's the actual weight from the scale, but just curious why the range is so significant? From 5160 to 5660 is a lot of weight.

And just for reference axle weights at the scale were 3280 steer and 2580 drive.
Additionally, my travel trailer is only 4,000 lbs, so I'm not really worried about weight as the truck can definitely handle it, but just curious about these numbers.

GVWR is the correct parameter to be using but are you sure 7045 is the right value? Might be listed on the sticker inside your driver's door jamb. Otherwise, double check your manual

Yep, that's the sticker number. GVWR is 3195kg or 7045lbs.

I thought some of the third gens were determined by members here to have 1600 or a bit more.

Agree, and should have clarified. I'm only looking to compare the actual curb weight from the scale to the curb weight stated in the manual. All of the other numbers are max capacity numbers or ratings, GVWR, CCVWR, Payload, etc.

Scale weight of 5660 lbs vs manual stated weight of 5160-5245. I doubt I got 400lbs of accessories.

As for Payload, these trucks have a yellow sticker on the door frame next to the other one, indicating the weight of the accessories. My truck sticker states payload is 1385lbs, and I have to reduce that number by 48lbs to account for modifications as stated on the yellow sticker. So my true max payload capacity is 1337lbs.
