I broke the glass on the drivers side mirror. Anyone know if the glass can be replaced or if I'll have to replace the entire assembly?

On the older gens it was pretty easy to swap glass... You just put a sturdy flat blade item (hard plastic if possible) under the glass, between the glass and the housing, and pry straight up. The glass would then come right out. Not sure if your gen would be the same, but here is a video showing how the glass is removed and re-mounted.

I've taken mine off while installing puddle lights; the mirror glass comes right off, like in the previous gens...even easier I'd say.

    RE: video posted.
That's one quick way of shattering the mirror - use metal to prop/force mirror off at your own risk...I simply pulled it straight off with my fingers (apply as even pressure all around as you can).
(look up more/other vids for removal procedure)

So the replacement was super easy but removing the old mirror is different than in previous generations. You need to slide a flat head screwdriver behind the mirror from the bottom edge (there's a little channel) and it pops right off. Then just disconnect the wires for the heater/BSM, reconnect to the new mirror and pop it on.

Q? (never thought about it) Where is the sensor for the BSM? On the back of the mirror glass?

I'm not sure where the sensor is. The warning light is built into the mirror glass and the connector is on the back side.

Sensor is back behind the rear fender of the vehicle. It is not part of the mirror.

Do you recall how the black and red wires re-connect to the replacement mirror (which wires goes to which terminal on the replacement glass)? It's not marked and I took mine off at night (it was hanging by the wires and didn't want to drive home with it hanging)

Eric_1980 would you be able to elaborate a little on how you popped it out with the channel? I have tried pushing gently and prying within the channel and the mirror does not seem to want to release.

Sorry for the super slow reply. I don't. I also disconnected mine without marking them I guessed and it worked. I wonder if it works either way.

Honestly I can't remember exactly, but I do recall it being really straightforward.

Have you had any luck? Mine is on so tight, when I pry it upward it looks like the bottom plastic of the whole side mirror enclosure is going to snap.
