I changed the rear axle fluid with .5qt of Lucas and then about 3.5qts of 80-90wt gear oil.

Man I can't wait to get the new Bilstein 5200 under there....

    Limited slip diff.

With the condition of your rear axle housing you probably won't be able to see the sticker there anymore even if there.

Which means you'd need to hit the Toyota Owners site, assign your VIN to yourself, and look at the build sheet. (easiest no-effort path)

Does it one wheel peel or lay down 11's? When i jack my truck up, my lsd is usually locked & spins both wheels the same direction. In neutral. But it has been open at least once where if you spin one wheel forward, the other will spin in reverse. In park. My lsd has lots of resistance in park, but can be forced with the tire on.

Pull the fill plug, look inside and see if you see a metal cylinder instead of gears.

I just changed the fluid in the front differential and put this Valvoline synthetic oil with friction modifier with some Lucas.

    IMG_20230524_124033.jpg

I also greased the rear driveshaft and all 4 u-joints.
The front driveshaft did not have any grease fittings...

I'm going to do the transmission oil next.
I plan to use Pennzoil Synchromesh.
    Thoughts?

Drain & fill and spread it out. A full flush & cleaning might burn your clutches.

So what's the verdict with the rear axle?
I have the fill plug out and saw a gear. Does that mean it's an open differental and don't need the friction modifier and I can put the plug in good to go?

Thankyou. Going to close it up for now. Later down the road I'll use fully synthetic with modifier.

Put Synchromesh in the transmission and gear oil in the t-case....
Next I took the radiator out in preparation for the new AC compressor, condenser and new lines. The compressor in the truck right now is siezed up. I picked up two 12oz cans of r134a and my brother is coming over with the vacuum pump and we are going to get the AC blowing cold it's hot a hell here in florida

I used to have that exact same setup! Had two of them actually. I ended up figuring out a way a fella could get some hanging storage in mine too. Sold them when we sold that house but those are great in a pinch at keeping stuff dry and easy to take down and put up.

I'm installing the new AC system (compressor, condenser, lines, expansion and dryer) and just curious about how much oil is required to go into the system and if there's any special tricks that I should know that you all could tell me before I begin
