Great thread. I'm finally biting the bullet and regearing my truck. I was torn on 4.88 vs 5.29, but went with 5.29 with an Eaton e-locker for the rear based on this thread. I'm currently on 35's but at least I'll be ready should I go up to 37's in the future.

    Great thread!

i’m looking to get some gears now and I think I’m gonna go with 529’s and a rear ARB locker.

Anybody used 4WP for gear install? Are they good/reliable for the job?

I have not used them but they do have a 10% discount and I believe they have a warranty.

King CO reservoirs adj / reservoirs adj rear. Total Chaos UCA and LCA. CST Spindles. Deaver HD 3" lift leaf pack. Viair 100% duty cycle 480CC pump and 2.5 gal tank. Retrax Pro MX bed cover. 1" lift shackles. Spintech exhaust. TRD CAI. Sierra 5.29 ISO polished. Powertrax Grip Pro LSD. Coachbuilder Steering Kit and power steering rack poly bushing kit.
I used them to install my 4.88 and Auburn Pro LSD. Purchased the gears and LSD from them also during their big sale. bought the three year warranty for parts and labor. started hearing some whining noise at around 20k after the install I brought it back and they said that it was normal. I should have gotten a receipt documenting that I brought it in for that reason. it very slowly got just a tad bit louder. I then brought it back after maybe around another 20k and they said the same thing it is normal. I didn't think nothing of it because there was no clunking or weird noise other than a small whining. BUT 120k after the install I started hearing the clunking and brought it to my mechanic because I was now out of warranty. My mechanic said I needed to have the rear end rebuild. so going to install 5.29 (seirra- iso polishing, and koyo intall kit also the Powertrax grip pro LSD) not installed by 4WP.

For anyone on the fence, I just referred to 5.29, it made a huge difference. I can hold 6th on the freeway on heavy 37’s. I went with revolution REM polished gears, grip pro in the rear and Eaton e locker up front.
