2022 Tundra Wheel Well Liners?

Hi all,

I coming seeking some guidance. Recently bought a 2022 Tundra TRD Off RD Limited, and as I'm sure you're all aware only half of the wheel wells are covered. Anyone know where I can find some covers or splash guards? I haven't had any luck online. Currently awaiting a reply from "Huskey" Support.

 

I’m not sure if you are seeking protection or uniform appearance. If you want the entire area in the wheel well to be black then the following has worked well for me on my trucks. I buy flat black Rustoleum spray paint and paint the metal wheel well, frame and anything else that is visible. It last a long time, protects from corrosion and makes it look like new. I repaint it every couple years.

 

I am on the look for these as well. The rear you can look right through from side to side. I would like something to keep some of the dirt. mud, etc from caking everything under the bed. I am a bit surprised there is literally nothing there. If I find something I will let you know, and if you do, please post here. I would be very interested.

 

Ah, finally someone that understands. More will understand after winter . I did receive correspondence back from Huskey. They don't have any intention on making them. Please do post again if you find anything.

I find it kind of strange they wouldn't have a complete well liner installed. And the front is like a felt carpet. Picks up road dirt/grass/debris and it is hard to get it off.

 

I had the full ones on my Ram and was surprised at the half ones on the Tundra. They look like ass. I have also been wondering if anyone sells them.

 

I agree. Come on Toyota. WTF!

 

Somewhere on the forum, another Gen3 Tundra owner posted picture of issues/damages current well design due to heavy wet snow and the wells filling to the point it damaged body parts.

I use Ark on my 2.5 gen. Great product quality and fitment, helps alot keeping the engine clean when offroad.

Emailed ark this week and they are currently in development front and rear for the 22!

 

You mind posting here if it ever really does come to fruition. Still would like some liners, nobody seems to be making them.

I’ve had to make aftermarket liners fit properly when they don’t, at work. Look for a brand/model truck that has liners with similar dimensions. You can use a heat gun to reshape and message it to fit. Drill holes where need and get some clips from Amazon.

Hi Dexter - Thank you, I have a '22 coming in on Tuesday next week for a mockup.

I did have a couple of questions for you..

• On the front of the '22, the Tundra has a new plastic splash guard on the cab side of the wheel well. I'm assuming this is either due to the heat either coming off the headers or to protect the turbos (or both).
  • Are people looking to remove the OEM plastic component and have a similar one-piece splash guard design as the Gen 2 Tundra? Or.. Are they looking to keep the plastic splash guard and have something bridge over the strut bracket to the front of the wheel well?
  • You also mention a need for rear splash guards. Can you elaborate? Are these mud flap deletes or something else

Hi Dexter - We've digitized the mockup for the fronts, we'll be cutting a prototype later today, and will have the vehicle back in the shop shortly to finalize the fronts and start the rears. You're correct, the rear is a mess - but we have a solution to close the gaps. Thanks for staying in touch

Funny thing is it’s an option on the fords to get the full liner

 

I've owned nearly 20 trucks from almost every manufacturer and not one of them has come with rear wheel well liners standard. I've added them to many of them. I'm happy the Tundra at least come stock with the small pieces that keep you from filing the bedside up with mud.

Ram had it on most models for many years. A very cheap part to add that should be standard

 

Interesting, neither my 2013 1500 or my 2022 2500 had them. I definitely agree they should be standard, but I'm not surprised to see Toyota not having them when the big 3 don't.
