Post 12 breaks this all down but here are the part numbers in a nutshell.

85532-08040 USB outlet. Shop around for this p/n. Toyota wants more than $120 but can be purchased used from eBay for less than $10.

    90980-12D25 socket

    82998-24290 (2x) wires

Kinda wish I add the rear USB sooner. Going to be going on a camping trip next month and be nice to have the rear charging for backseat passengers. Contacted many dealership around me and none can get the 90980-12D25 connector housing now, apparently none in the country and a few are inbound to Ontario, Canada according to one of the dealer that tried to look up an ETA. No ETA atm for my area.

Okay, I did the install but i was not able to take pictures. I was one able to take 1 picture. but heres what I did.
    • Pre-cut your wire that will be used for power supply, pos. and neg. and use a wire wrap as an additional protection.
    • pop off the dash tray where the cig. port is installed, the tray will pop off easily, just pull up the front side then pull towards you. unplug the cig. port harness.
    • Now feed the wire from top of the dash towards the bottom passenger side left panel (this part is time consuming) use zip tie or something flexible to guide the wore towards the passenger side left kick panel. you can also remove the cabin filter cover to gain more acces to the wire you are feeding theres 2 large holes where you can put your hands in to guide the wire. fedd all the the wire towards bottom and only leave about 5" stucking out to the dashboard.
    • once the wire is at the bottom passenger left side kick panel, just tuck in the rest of the wire on under the center console panel, reach in about 2 inches inside the panel until you can feel that the wire is tucked in above the carpet (you can feel it) once the wire fed towards the rear where the usb port is located, then start the wiring connection as stated in post #12. then you should be good to go. for reference i was able to take a picture of the wire from the cig lighter port. the wire with red and purple is the positive, the solid purple is negative. good luck, i hope this helps. I got too many distraction when o was doing the install thats why i forgot to take pictures.

Honestly I don't see how this is any easier than installing the USB charging ports via the charge ports already there. Less wire, less time fishing wire, and less chances of the wire getting pinched or cut.

To each their own....learning how to disassemble the center console and center dash panels opens up a world of other "options" (MTS switch, after market light switches, etc)

Thanks. Can confirm, I just did this method as I thought it would be easier than to take the whole console apart. Whole project took 45 min maybe. The hardest part is snaking the wire down to the floor. Once you get the wire its easy. Tuck the wire inside the console and wire up as said in post 12. Stupid that we have to do this for a $50k+ truck but it is what it is.

Thank you to everyone who posted with information on this topic. I installed the rear console USB ports in my SR5. I have 2 headrest mounted tablet holders (removed from my 2019 GMC Sierra before I traded it in) that ended up being a perfect fit for the Tundra headrests. Each of the tablet holders has 2 USB charging ports, so I wired them in when I was connecting the console USB chargers.

Here is a super-simple, inexpensive, and quick way to get USB/USB C power to the back of the console and, hence, the rear seat…
Watch my how-to YouTube video or follow these instructions.
    https://youtu.be/PCH3uzrz2vY

    1. Get a USB or USB C cable and plug it into the USB port in your console.
    2. Take the other end and poke it through the console light hole at the back of the console. (Mine didn’t come with a light but the hole was still there.)
    3. Remove the cup holder at the back of the console.
    4. Remove the back of the console.
    5. Remove the rubber mat at the bottom of the little cubby hole under the drink holders. There are six factory holes that “hold” in the rubber mat.
    6. Take the end of the USB cable you pushed through the console light opening and push it through one of the factory holes at the back side of the cubby hole under the drink holders and pull the cable through. Replace the rubber mat.
    7. You now have a “built in” power cable which can stay in the little cubby to power devices in the back seat.

Note: If you buy a plug similar to this one you can power both phones and laptops with just one cable.
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PY7R912

    Easy. Cheap. No tools required.
Hope this helps somebody out there.

Thanks for posting this DIY. I purchased everything and installed in about an hour. The hardest part was getting the clip off the shifter. My wife said wow that looks like it came with the truck

Removed the center console stuff to connect my rear USB to the front USB wiring... For some reason, I turned the car on while I had the parking brake connector detached. (probably to allow me to move the shifter)... Of course it phoned home and tattled on me, and now the service center wants me to bring it in for "A malfunction in the Parking Brake System has been detected. Contact your Toyota dealer to have your vehicle inspected."

Can you plug a multi port usb c to usb into that usb c port in the console? That way you could plug in 2 or more cables that run to the back? Would that power them/work well you think?
