I’ve read you have to have the battery disconnected before you remove the tail gate and you can’t drive it with the tail gate off.

I don’t have that much trust in folks. I it’s not the auto up down tail gate with the step so who knows maybe it’ll be fine

For y’all with past new gens did yours have the transmission whine? Mine does and apparently it’s “normal” per ford. Performs flawless but hate the noise.

I might be done with “mechanical” powertrains and finally headed to a model y

My powerboost got no transmission wine in ic mode. Am occasional overly firm thump into gear was its only quirk and I felt like it was never that bad or frequent.

Same with the Tremor. I do read about people complaining about hard shifting but I have never noticed it. Don't know if I got lucky or I'm just not as sensitive to it as others.

Bold move for Ford to name the Tremor after the way its transmission shifts. :pccoffee:

Doesn't the Baja exhaust "mode" cover up any whiny sounds ?

Mine had a "whine" when I picked it up, but it went away with time. I'm partially deaf, so didn't really affect me. I have seen intermittent complaints about that though, still doesn't seem common, therefore not normal. I'd walk it up the chain of command at the dealership then Ford Corporate.

I remember my 21 5.0 had it. I’ve seen new 2023 videos have it.

So I am told the tailgate recall Step where BCM had to be reprogrammed corrupted some software and they are confident it's squared away but are holding it overnight to be 100%.

At about day 15 I feel lucky compared to the two other cases I know of that were well over 30 days and nearly 120 to resolve. This recall lasts for years and is only recommended for people who experience the unintended opening issue. So I wonder how many more owners will trickle in in the next couple years thinking they're just getting a one day recall only to end up with sidelined trucks before they fix this. I know my dealer will probably pray nobody walks in and asks for it again before it's updated.

This is my dump all thread.

Heading out to Florida tomorrow have a Tahoe premiere rental. 250 miles on the odometer. Has magnetic ride and this thing is absolute dog shit.

Typical rock hard GM seats and the magnetic ride shakes and vibrates on every road imperfection. Raptor rides like Mercedes. This thing rides like a 95 civic hatch.

Truck has been home since Friday morning. Thankfully been through a few nights without the lights being possessed or any other weird crap happening. Settings and options all seem to work. Runs and shifts perfectly. Ran a few things off the bed power panel with no hiccups. When I was at my most pessimistic during this ordeal I made the mistake of throwing its info and my number into an online appraisal program at my old Toyota dealership that could not find me any Tundras close to what I wanted when I was shopping in early 2022. Now I'm getting constant voicemails gauging my interest in trading. GEICO gives me full bumper to bumper mechanical breakdown insurance for 7 years or 100K so I'm being patient since my first year went well and seeing if this thing will quiet down for a couple more years and inspire my confidence again.

Not only do I love the generator component but I generally think in just the last 12 months it's become impossible to get into anything comparable without paying at least 5-7K more. Plus my current loan is .9 and I am trying to cling to that with everything I got unless real armageddon happens with this thing.

If I end up talking to the Toyota dealer I'm probably going to have to throw up every barrier to me caving that I can by saying I basically want an even trade for a unicorn they'll never find at my price, like a 6.5 bed red LTD with nothing but the pano moonroof added.

I use the generator way more than I thought I ever would. I've even charged my boat batteries on trips.

I have the 7.2 kw panel and bought a 240v generator cord that goes into 4 3 prong receptacles along with a few other cords. I have procrastinated on this since forever but one day when the wife and kid are out I want to verify the setup I envision to run our entire first floor in an outage would work.

I've run a full sized fridge and a few other small things so far. When my plumber asked for power to plug in his auger last time he cleared my sewer main I let him use the truck and he was astonished to see it crank out the 1200 watts without breaking a sweat.

Do it before you need it. I recommend this Soft Start kit for your compressor(s). Especially if you have a heat pump vs gas heat. I bought my Honda two weeks before we had a Winter storm and lost power for 16 hours, fortunately I had just wired in the exterior outlet to my panel. I would have had pipes busted and lost all my pool equipment if had not had it ready to go. Pretty nice when a $5000 purchase pays for itself the first time you have to use it.

This truck is $103k then 13% tax on that.
Are people nuts - seriously - its a pickup truck.
    I must be getting old.
How do you drive into the woods with that and not worry about it getting pinstripes?

On the other hand I saw a blue Tremor parked in town up north and I gotta say....... it is truly sweet.
If I was to be tempted to get a new truck that is still the one - and just make sure a dealer was close for recalls and servicing (that applies to all brands)
My 85 lb Black lab will not allow me to buy any pickup where he can't get into the back easy - he is 9 now - and he is too big to sit on top of the back seat. Has to be the floor.
18 Tundra does just fine. The 4Runner with seats flat works too.

A few years ago with my 09 Crewmax we road tripped up to Maine to spend a week with some friends who paid for a cabin rental. It ended up being down an overgrown trail with branches pin striping me everywhere. Didn't care much at the time as the truck was 11-12 years old and paint was rough. If it was my Powerboost I'd have probably had to detour to the nearlest HD to buy a cheap chain saw to clear an appropriately sized path and then returned it after that use. If they ever pick a vacation spot again and invite us that's going to be in the back of my mind.

I feel like there is a diminishing return on the rising level of luxury after the 75K mark on a pickup where I'm just not interested anymore. I'd be wanting a Porsche or a Vette at that price point.

I see posts all the time about massage seats crapping out. I like heated seats, could care less about cooled. Heated wheel doesn't matter to me. I don't get worked up over 27 speakers including 3 in each headrest and 2 by your crotch. Sure, the super ultra deluxe level 9 leather smells more leathery than the regular deluxe level 7 leather but whatever. Hey backseat pax, sorry you don't have heated seats back there and you have to wait 60 seconds for the HVAC to kick in before you stretch out and relax while I do all the driving on yet another road trip.

I have owned four F-150's. The lack luster quality made it real hard to enjoy the vehicle. My last new Ford had multiple issues with axel noise problems (a known issue, but no recall), moon roof failure, door lock failure, an oil leak, paint failure throughout the full roof, and a clunky transmission. No issues with the 3.5 ecoboost, and I have no desire to ever own another naturally aspirated V8.

So you've known for a long time that the quality was lackluster but you kept buying them? This is exactly why Ford and the other manufacturers have no incentive to improve their reliability.

That isn't what I said. I referenced that my last F-150 had quality issues that made it hard to enjoy the vehicle, which is why I now own a 23 Tundra that is, so far, issue-free.

    Still $85k with tax.
I wish it was LOL but unfortunately it is not.
The year was around 2008 thereabouts - I remember when our dollar was worth a little more than the US dollar.
    I went ebay nuts.
This included speakers from Florida (Matrix 800's) in crates and Audio Research amps preamps and JC Verdier turntable.
    Distant memory now.

As someone with very little respect for the US government, y'all provide perspective that it could always be worse.

Not if you're truck trading ......8^0 thats for sure.

And with Toyota what bothers me more than the sheer lack of trucks, and waiting times, is that our trim package contents are very different. They are not as good, we can't get some features, and we are forced to get features we don't want and can't delete.
