What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I wouldn’t worry about it trd pro only lift front to level out the back, so basically it only lift rear 1” but I think you may need a uca for front

I’m taking it in for the alignment in the morning so I’ll check on the UCA. I may also ask Westcott Designs to see what they say about that. I had left a message with them anyway to call me back. I hope I don’t need one. I’ve dumped enough money on larger tires this week. Thanks for the advice.

 

My body shop guy took them off to paint them. I’m not sure the exact process but I told him I wanted them matte black. I think they came out pretty dang good.

 

Made a TRD Offroad version of Valhalla's cat shield. It was tilted backwards and worked as a plow when backing up in deep snow. Also I think it can flex under a boulder and hit the transfer case.


Decided to cut a window for the stock skid plate, which deforms and absorbs the energy.



Need to take off all my Texas-made skid plates and paint them properly for New England (sand down remnants of old paint, degrease, spray adhesion enhancer, two layers of zinc, three layers of base paint, Raptor).



Had to weld back brackets to the skid.



Now it sits flush!

 

Replaced the original antenna base on my 2014. It was cracked and falling apart. Might do a shorter antenna later.

What bed mat did you get. I need to get one myself. The factory sprayed bed liner is not very tough.

 

Got new tires and kinda regret not going bigger. Also got Bilstein 6112/5160 installed.
Waiting for Diode Dynamics to go on sale for upgraded fogs. Really liked the SS3 pros on the Tacoma I’m selling.

Why dont you just swap them to your Tundra? I'm sure all you'd need is some brackets - maybe not though

 

The Tacoma is pending sale and I don’t have the original fogs.

 

Installed my rebuilt TRD skid plate, the https://www.shop.tech12volts.com/product.sc?productId=589&categoryId=124, and some little reflectors to the end sides of the tailgate and a very needed wash.

 

I got this one, but I wouldn't call it "tough." It's a foam-backed carpet to make shoving things around easier (especially on the knees!). I'd unsnap it and pull it if I had to do some heavy, sharp object hauling. Although they do say it's "marine grade." Which I guess is tough?

What size tires did you go with?

 

BFG A/T, 275/65/R20.

 

Probably the best mileage I'll see on a tank. This was mostly 80-90kph (50-56mph) with a feathery right foot on stock 32" tires. One more tank before the 35s get mounted. I'll have to look into correcting the speedo/odometer.

 

Got the RTT off and setup in the garage (french cleats + Front Runner brackets). Taking out the family camper this upcoming weekend and don't need the weight. Also received my heritage center caps for the methods.

 

Do you have a lift? That's a large tire, seems to be about 34". Do you have any rubbing and did you do any trimming or plastic manipulation to avoid rubbing?

 

No lift or removal of anything, my stock skid (no wings) and my current skid (RCI) do not rub either. That setup fit very well for stock. I would recommend 285, but not if that make a difference on the fit.
