I've seen those from the thread in here. You are right a bit pricey. I'll do a couple changes and see if it's needed.

 

gaaaa, another 189.50 spent. I had forgotten about them because they have been unobtanium, I do have fear although I have the metal canister every time I r&r the filter so they will be available.

Looks fine to me. Maybe the thermostat is the next thing to check. That or i’m imagining a problem and have just been watching the coolant temp closer than I used to. At most I’d say it’s only 10 degrees warmer than I usually expect.

I just did another drive, I thought it stayed about 205 & it's going to 217 when I'm going over 80 but stays there as opposed to before it got to 230 & was boiling, no boiling & all seems well. WHEW. I'm going to let the radiator come and "keep it in stock" for someday when it needs to be replaced, it has 136k on it so can't last forever.

The thermostat fits the 5.7 in a Tundra but not the same 5.7 in a Sequoia. (It does)

 

Oh, I see it now at the top of each screenshot. I've seen that when I've ordered Sequoia parts for my Tundra, like when I ordered the heavier Sequoia front sway bar.

 

I've got one sitting in my garage, I installed it when I upgraded my radiator, threw a code for not getting up to operating temp or something to that effect...maybe it can be tuned out, just FYI.

How's it compare to the other options, I'm trying to find a thread.

 

Compared to stock it has a larger core (thicker, wider, taller) so it holds more coolant and it also blocks more area around the radiator forcing the air through instead. I wish I took a side-by-side pic, but I was in a rush to get it installed. Not sure how it compares to other aftermarket units.

 

It's never under 90 7 months of the year here & the truck gets to 195 in 2 minutes. I doubt getting to operating temp will be an issue for me.

Interesting read on the topic of 0-60 testing, which I guess has been briefly discussed prior.

 

I'm going to make another post "carbon fiber 1piece driveshaft group buy" buy figured I share it in here. Just came acrosss another members post on FB here boosted tundras The skinny: It looks like a piece of art, shed nearly 15lbs, rated for 10k rpms and 4k ftlbs of torque. Roughly $2600 to make. In the process to finding out if a group buy can lighten the cost.

 

When looking at car and driver I have noticed some wildly different 0-60 and 5-60 times and thought it was odd. Sure enough if you check that 2021 WRX STI is a 7s 5-60. Electric cars seem to be very consistent while small displacment or hybrid high hp setups seem to have big deltas. Look at the TRX as well which the 0-60 never made sense due to being 7000lbs, the 5-60 of mid 4s does make sense. Overall this is a great article.

I take it you need a 2 piece due to it being lifted... is that right? Isn't a real beaut, I had a 1 piece carbon driveshaft in my old STI that was putting like 456 to the wheels and I could chirp all 4 shifting into 2nd and 3rd. Glad I found a new money pit, lol
