As a follow up and FYI, I am not very impressed with this lid. It's okay, but I ended up still not using it.
I am on the road now and typing this at a red light. I will give more information later when I have time to elaborate.

Maybe it’s more to deal with land navigation since there are three “norths”, true, magnetic, and map.

After a bit of searching, this is the one I liked the most, it’s a subtle Trd badge, there’s others nice ones on eBay just type in Trd plate cover.

well for a basic no frills small knob (smaller than the drive mode knob) maybe 1in in size with no color you can get them for about $20. add in color and up the size a lot and tooling and fab you can jump in price pretty quick.

i imagine the billet blank is around 25-50 and waste is probably around 15-20 for a standard un colored billet blank. add in the dark color and that probably adds 20 to the cost. so you start pusing $100 easily for the cost of 1.

add in low volume that cant offset production savings, yeah stuff adds up.

you can color it afterwards (cheap way) or during the anodized way (way more expensive)

Anodizing in bulk has a relatively low cost, I’m just wonder what the benefit of a colored block of stock aluminum has. I order quite a bit of machined parts, I’ve just never heard of “colored billet block” in industry.

I would want to make sure that the anodizing was sealed. Those knobs are exposed to sunlight and the dye (If organic) will react to UV light if not properly sealed. You'll end up with a blotchy/orange looking knob after a couple of months if it isnt sealed properly.

Happened to me with some tweeter pods that were "MIL Spec" anodized but had a poor seal. Looked horrible.

Just a quick note re my experience with the OEM Toyota Tundra 6.5’ bed mat (put it over my OEM bedliner for added protection, I tend to drag heavy items over it).
I purchased the mat in the winter and had a terrible time getting it to lie flat. The ends (next to the tailgate) constantly rolled up which I hated.
I used a heat gun and that helped a bit, but not enough. Now that weather is getting hot I left the tonneau cover open and parked the Tundra on my driveway letting the blazing sun heat up the whole bed mat. What worked best was rolling up the end, and letting the weight of the mat reverse its tendency to curl up.
I’m finally satisfied that the mat is lying flat. I like this mat (perfect fit, great branding, seems high quality) however it should be thick enough so that it lies flat from the beginning.
Other mats I’ve read of are so thick that they lie flat from day 1. I shouldn’t have to wait this long to stop it from rolling up. Heck even my Tractor Supply horse stall mats I used for a home gym lay flat immediately with zero rolling. That kind of material would be perfect. Hope this helps!

other option is to flip it so the weight pushes down on the rolled edge to get it to lay flat.
