Is there a way of removing the running boards and leaving the brackets still attached to the truck?
Am able to loosen the bolts for the running boards but the bracket bolts don’t want to budge.

    Depends on the boards.

My current ones, no. My previous ones, yes. Sometimes the raill bolts get gummed up from road and dirt debris. could just need convincing.

You will see the brackets if they are left on. It sounds like they are rusted.

Helped a friend remove his and we used an induction heater to loosen all the bracket bolts on the truck (the ones we could’nt break loose.) Worked great and they came right out.

If they are rusted I'd get some Kroil to break it loose.

Get your hands on an impact wrench.

Spray the bolts with a rust remover inhibitor, wait the recommended time and use the impact tool.

Are you replacing them or do you just want to get them off entirely? Either way, you need to get the old brackets off.

Looks good - what did you spray them with?

I used a product similar to a textured bed liner.
