if you have to fill at a Marina probably around $2.25 Liter multiple by 3.75 for gallon. yup really.

Toyota / Ford should consider piping in the sound of a big 2 stroke Outboard. rum !! pah pah pah pah..... rum !!

I rarely fill at the marina, I have a bunch of those race cans I use most of the time.

I bought the boat to repower, seller said the motor was blown. Turned out to just be a sensor and since I fixed that I have fallen in love with it, haha. So not sure I can justify dropping $20k on a new 4stroke now.

I have some dirt roads in the base training area where I live. If you really want to enjoy those Raptors, you owe it to yourself to throw the suspension setting into "Off-Road" and see how fast you can handle. Can't even tell it's dirt.

Double the speed limit, lol! You speeding past a school or downtown business district, @DrZoidberg?

We can’t say anything about that though. We can only shame people for hooking up to a trailer that puts their truck 400 lb over GVWR.

I dont think I could get 11 MPG if I tried with this truck... 23 MPG with a 13 ft kayak sailing in the wind on my last trip.

In some cars the technology is taken a step further and is used along with the cruise control and speed limiter functions. In these models, the car can automatically reduce your speed to match the current speed limit.

Imagine Dr. Z driving the truck / car where this tech controlled your speed. A Raptor with speed limiter. Your vehicle has this tech.
The option just hasn't been turned on. All it is some coding programmer making a change from 0-1-0 to 0-1-1.

That’s the problem with all this new tech. Believe it or not there are some companies already that make you pay a monthly subscription just to be able to remote start a vehicle you own with your key fob.

Congrats. But everyone on this thread has boats with large two stroke outboards that we feed E0 fuel into.
We don't care about mpg. 8^0

Well - I am an old IT guy - meaning I was born before the internet.
I am intimidated by the new tech when it applies to the area I consider freedom - driving
IT Guys in my era are alot like Auto mechanics.
Every auto mechanic I know tries to keep cars / trucks running as long as possible because they know the new stuff is more complicated and fragile, and can't be worked on without expensive equipment.
IT Guys I know never want to be on the bleeding edge of tech.
Some use older computers until the apps running on them are no longer supported and they are forced to migrate over.

I wonder what he is smoking thinking payload is around 1900lbs. I tried to tell him but people think they know it all.

Doesn’t GM now incorporate like 3 years of subscriptions for like $900 under options on the window sticker for their trucks and large SUVs?

Id say that's too much. I think Ford straight up says in their literature not to use slide ins on the F-150, Toyota may say something similar. Even if you've got a 1900 payload(unlikely), once you add 400-500 pounds of passengers you are maxed out. Without gear, food, etc.

Yes correct I know f150 can have high payload but I never saw 2022 tundra above 1550lb for payload on the sticker not what the website says.

Google (Android Auto) made a hell of an offer to GM to have this happen.
They set a new bar level. JMO

But even that unicorn 2wd, long bed, XL with a 3000 pound payload isn't going to be best tool for the job. Just get a 3/4 ton.

Ford has a page in their literature specifically to tell you how much a slide in can weigh in the F150.

ya, it will be interesting to see how this plays out, apple marketshare isnt exactly small and most people who have apple products dont want google based products.

it will be interesting to see if thats enough to make people not buy the vehicles from GM and then see if GM backtracks.

The 2018 Sierra 1500 with the max payload package that I looked at specifically said not to use a slide in camper with it. I suspect it's at least in part due to the truck not being able to handle that high of a centre of gravity even if it's still within its GVWR.

Still in a loaner. This is a shame, the Truck never failed me for over a year and did not live up to the Powerboost unreliability reputation at all. Only needed a couple recalls that were done at oil changes. Actually drove smoother as she broke in. Never left me stranded. Now Ford authorized and instructed recall work has put it down for 10 days. There may be some problem with the wiring or reprogramming of some module in the tailgate recall fix that is corrupting software. They're not sure. I've seen two other guys on a forum have the same thing happen after the same recall and neither posts are 100% clear on what the final resolution is.

They are supposed to dig into it and call again today. I'm trying to be patient because I still like the dealer. But If they can't get it back on the road by the start of next week I already gave warning I'm gonna have to start the conversation about what we do about the fact that their fleet Escape won't serve my family's needs as the start of summer vacation season sets in. @DrZoidberg 's strategy of dabbling and moving on starting to look more attractive.

I'm a middle-aged IT guy (lol) but I generally agree. I mean, don't get me wrong. I like bleeding-edge tech; I like testing it, improving it, etc.

BUT....I don't like it in my everyday vehicle, not if it's going to fail me all the time, because being in the IT world has taught me that ANYTIME there is change, there will also be issues to iron out, because NO testing will replicate the real world and the dumb things users will do to their devices.
