Update, today I had my brother take the truck for a spin for me to let me know what he thought. His comments below.

Pros: Drivability was great, acceleration/ power delivered nicely at 3/4 and full throttle. He noticed all the Temps and parameters on the BTI gauge maintained. He's said saw the psi peak at 18.4. Cruising at 65 was easy.

Cons: Due to the fact that we didn't make sure the traction control was completely disengaged and that there was less than a quarter tank of E85 he experienced some safety cutoffs under very hard acceleration towards redline, from the fuel probably moving to the back of the tank I'm assuming and the factory ecu closing the throttle body since traction control wasn't off. Going to look into this further and see if it still replicates the same cut off with a full tank and TC off.

Both him and my wife said the truck is unnecessarily loud, which while listening to it through the phone it even sounded obnoxiously loud.. so due to it having no cats, that's what will happen. Might look into a cat designed for sc'd applications if it gets annoying, but I'll probably love it. Eventually I'm assuming I'll have to reinstall my factory cats for emissions, but I'll figure all that out when the time comes.

 

Skinny pedals don't like TC! I bet the fuel just shook around wrong once TC was engaged at near WOT. Turn that valet mode off!

I tried and tried to get someone to make them again so I could snag one but no luck.

 

One of their techs that I'm cool with was sending me pictures of this build all along the way. Planning on getting my truck over there for a very similar build.

 

On my truck at the time of removing all the cats I put some pretty large resonators in place of where the rear cats go. It's not quiet by any means but it certainly helped.

 

I'm gunna have to charge you for those pictures. Does that tech still work there? Lol

Yeah unfortunately he doesn't, great guy just wasn't meeting the standard that they hold over there from what was explained to me. Yeah they asked me if they have permission to post pictures of it, I said of course. I'm on that fb aswell.

 

Right out of the gate with my install my shop ran into some issues that ProSpeed hadn't come across before and David Donnals put me in touch with the tech and he helped a ton. We'd continue to BS here and there after the fact and he'd send me cool shit they were doing. One of those things being pics of that turbo Tundra they were working on long before anyone was supposed to know about that. Guess I lost my inside man lol

3.5” pulley eh. You renting a crane to change that out?

 

I feel the sizes on Whipple are much different than the harrops and maggy. Stock pulley size is 3.65". According to their site .125" of pulley change is 1psi of boost

 

For sure. The 3.5” is a little less flow than the 80mm on a Harrop. The 3.375 would be in-between the 75 and 80 which is basically what I would want (that 77.5mm).

 

I figure I'll get an extra psi on the larger intake side also. We'll see how it runs if needed I'll throw another pulley on since its an easy quick change.

 

Truck sold this morning, going up north to Maine. Congrats to that guy! I wonder if he's in here.

 

I would ask why go through all that to sell it, but he probably had to when the bill came due.

 

I can tell you that was not the case if your assuming something was wrong with the truck or couldn't afford it. He's a very established dude, just was over the project taking as long as it did and just wanted to go onto the next project. Hey if you got it like that, you can do that.
