You have to be connected to your profile before syncing the key fob. If it won’t let you, turn the truck off and back on. Once you can connect to your profile and sync the key, it’ll work fine.

Make sure you go into your cell phone setting and make sure the phone is paired to the truck. Hit refresh on the profile and this should do the trick. Worked for me when I had some issues when trying to connect. All good now.

so glad I saw this on a Tuesday! Wish me luck.

weird thing is that mine just says primary user instead of my name. I watched my salesperson login and his name showed up…. I can’t figure out how to change it.

My salesman was not very knowledgeable and had some difficulties setting it up. After it not working well and calling, he said look it up on YouTune. I am not sure what he may or may not have done. Would starting from the original factory settings be a bad idea?

I had similar issues but may have been little different than yours but I believe will sove your problems. Make sure when you set up your app on your phone so you have a profile set up for your current truck. You will notice there is is drop down showing my garage. I had my old Tundra set up and it was creating a conflict. It also was showing my pre-production vin on my 22. I deleted those from the app and made sure the profile was for my new truck. Then I went back to the truck to set it up. It did ask for pin. I entered that. Then I selected my profile. It shoud match what you created on your phone app. You should show as the main profile. Select personal settings and turn on the key fob. That's it. Moving forward, the system automatically logs me in under my profile everytime. No more pin. It automatically connects me to android auto and links my music to Amazon music. Super easy to set up the link. Pretty slick. Also, I would highly reccommend looking for a video with Tim from pickup trucks getting a demo from a Toyota guy showing features of the infotaiment center. Pretty neat how you can say "hey Toyota" to wake the system up and ask anything from weather to directions etc.

also just had my infotainment system replaced. Like your experience rwaters, I have no way of registering my profile in my truck. How did you get around this? CarPlay is working but the register my profile screen is totally greyed out
