In the concept of less lawn to mow, I have embarked on a patch of thyme and other ground cover on the side yard. Rototilled the rest of the area and planted 36 more plants. The plants should have different flowering times, and most are drought tolerant. Veggies in the planter boxes are growing. We already harvested some lettuce.IMG_5404.jpg

Recently had my brother in law make some shelving, cabinets, benches, and hangup area for our kids upstairs. We built the house with the intention of using it as a kids playroom and now it's happening. The room is above our garage, so hopefully minimal noise for us. More going to happen down the road, but this will work for now.

Kinnikinnick is a great spreading ground cover that does well in the PNW. We tore out all of our main yard grass about 5 years ago and planted lots of native perennials and shrubs, then fill in the open space with more every year and lots of bark dust mulch every two years.

building my dream 3 car garage. a mixture of diy and getting some help. time lapse from paint prep to finished product was 4 days. i can start parking on it monday. custom cabinets, overhead storage, stackwall and workshop in single garage come in two weeks. i'm waging a war on clutter this time. :)

thanks. it's epoxy. i was advised that the only things that will stain it is brake fluid and battery acid which i likely won't be handling. otherwise it's lifetime guaranteed. if i do spill i can hose down the garage, we'll see tho.

Yeah, them decks look really nice. I'm still organizing and dumping a bunch of stuff to do something similar.
Brake fluid also eats paint, so I would assume would damage epoxy floors.

FINALLY finished weeding the flower beds. Adding a last bit of mulch to get it thicker in some spots. Threw cardboard under a good chunk of it to help prevent weeds. Glad that's done!

We have had a Quiet Cool fan for a few years. It works real good so long as the humidity stays low. When that happens we just turn on the A/C.

It usually cools off enough to open up in the evenings...not when its 100+ degrees out usually, so the a/c just stays on. Usually it will get down into the 60's in the evening and super nice to have some fresh air.

At a quick glance, I thought you put googly eyes on the upper portion of the leg under the bench top, but they're just bolts lol

Removed the hose bibs I installed 7 years ago when we gutted the house and installed hot and cold hose bibs yesterday. My truck will appreciate this the winter.

I'm guessing the hot water line was there already? Heat on demand, or hot water tank?
I can't wait to have my shop built so I can hot/cold hose bibs. Bringing warm water from inside to wash kinda sucks.

When we built our house, I ran those for all the outdoor hose bibs. It’s so nice.

No, I had to run new hot water lines to them. It’s a single story house so all the water was ran in the crawl space. I put in a tankless hot water heater last year, it will be supplying the hot water.
