TRD Pro Grille Install

Hi everyone I recently purchased a 2020 tundra in cement grey, something I've been looking forward to for a long time but my 2007 Camry just wouldn't give up I do miss it though, after more than 15 years I had a lot of good memories with it.

Like a lot of you on here I'm not a fan of the chrome on the Tundra and I am going to order the TRD Pro grille and front end caps from sparks after seeing the excellent reviews they get here.

My question for everyone here is should I install it myself or have them do it. I was told approximately 3 hours ($420) for them to do it. I have almost zero experience with doing any modifications to a truck and very few tools. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Do it yourself.

GRILLE:
Watch a couple YT videos, take your time with the tabs, it's easy. I removed mine a few times to bedline, replace LED headlight bulbs etc.

Here is a video that shows how to release the lower tabs by pressing down (from the motor side). There will be other videos, showing exactly where to press.

Don't forget to disconnect TSS, if your truck is equipped with it. I took precautions and disconnected the battery first too, as I didn't want to mess up the TSS computer.

$420 is crazy for how easy it is.

I am not familiar with the end caps, but the Grille is something anyone can do.

 

Part number on the grille by any chance?

 

I did it myself it wasn't any big deal to do the grille. Pretty quick and easy.

The end caps were a bit more work. I think I made it harder for myself because I didn't take the bumper off. That would have made it easier. There are some black plastic clips/brackets that are different on the painted plastic end caps than the chrome ones, so make sure you get those.

One additional question. I'm purchasing the sensor cover for the safety system and assume you all did the same.

Did you have any issues with the safety system after installing? Did you have to take it to the dealer to have it recalibrated?

 

I purchased the OEM radar sensor cover and had no issues and no need to bring it in for calibration.

 

I bought an aftermarket sensor cover off of eBay or Amazon for my 21 and never had an issue. I think it was 20-30 dollars.

 

I have the M C Auto TRD PRO replica grille and TSS sensor cover on mine. Never had any issues.
