I am about to get Bilstein (8112s front and) 8100s for the rear but I was wondering about how the lift in the rear would work. Does the rear lift come from the suspension itself or is it just from leaf springs and spacers?

I spoke with someone who told me that the lift range listed for rear suspension is not something adjustable like the front, its just a range that is possible from the leaf/spacers.

First time doing such a big upgrade, appreciate the help

A rear lift can be accomplished by blocks, shackles, or leaf springs. The Roadmaster Active Suspension when used by itself can give you up to an inch. Toytec has what they call axle shims that can be uses for lean correction/leveling or to get 1/2 inch of lift.

Sometimes shocks alone can lift the rear, but it won’t be much. Block spacers, add a leaf, new leafs, shackles, sumo springs and air bags will actually lift the rear with varying costs/applications/results. Shackles are likely the cheapest and easiest adjustment and minimal change in driving characteristics, with add a leaf being a close second. Blocks are for mall crawling. New leafs are the best but highest cost way to lift the rear.

I want new leaf springs but I will need to recover from the pain of the suspension cost first haha
