Mine didnt either and so I bought one of the air spring aftermarket ones. It took like 10 seconds to lower and my dog would get so pissed.

The electronic button replacing the latch. I don't see the point and I'd rather that be gone and other things be made standard.

It's easier/cheaper to run an electrical wire than a mechanical assembly. That's why everything is drive by wire, electrically actuated 4x4, etc.

Lol they rewired my tailgate and now my headlights come on on their own. Dealer has the truck again and I'm back in a loaner.

look I'm not fronting about greener pastures I'll be straight up with everyone about how it goes with this truck. Hopefully this is a minor hiccup.

Same. I whole heartedly regretted my swap from 2021 TRD pro to a 21 f150.
We’ll see how fast the raptor hits the auction block.

I hope it has the acceleration I loved in the hybrid tundra. The lack of acceleration is why we’re dumping the pilot.

My desire for acceleration is honestly why I’ll prob wind up with a Tesla. Or my GMC Denali ev if that reservation ever comes to fruition.

True. But my wife was set on the pilot and we might have kept it but even she said the acceleration is a deal breaker.

Other dealbreaker is lack of passenger seat adjustment. Idk what’s up with manufacturers but not only are passenger seats in top trims in SUVs not adjustable but they sit so low.

didnt you guys drive it first? I could have told you from here just looking at the specs it would be a dog, lol.

I find your car trading every two seconds amusing, lol, Ive never seen anyone trade so much before, I just wouldn't have the time or patience for that

post some pics of all these rides once in a while

My work F150 doesn't have the soft open tailgate. I'm so used to my Tundra's tailgate now that sometimes I drop the Ford's at work. It slams down and scares the hell out of me. Once, I almost peed a little.

I will say the tailgate on 2023 is awesome, its soft open and its really easy to lift and close it.

They must have tweaked some things as time went along as I know some of the earlier builds had rattles, and loser closing, etc., but this time thing is super tight and when it clicks when it closes its a super solid CLICK, and its dead nuts tight.

love the power step coming down when you hit the side button on the taillight, now that was a good idea

I'm glad my wife doesn't care about acceleration. Her 4Runner would be on the chopping block so fast

Which F-150s don't have soft open? Is it an XL. Sorry about the incontinence btw.

    It's a 2021 XLT.

The peeing is a raccoon thing, we're easily startled.

I want a 4 runner for some reason. I’d love a 23 solar octane pro, they look beautiful. But I’ve heard they are loud and turds on acceleration.

Yeah my 22 pro was loose but my 23 platinum tail gate was super solid.

it had the auto bed step. It was great and even retracted if it bumped into an object.

We have had 4 of them. Each one "cheaper" feeling than the last, but my wife loves them. When her 2021 ORP got totaled I tried to talk her into a Land Cruiser but she wouldn't have it so replaced with the same thing just a 22. Lucky me, got to do all the suspension 3 times over.

Traded in my wife’s 2017 Camry and my old 2014 Jeep SRT for a 2020 4R Pro. Loved everything about it except for the anemic power, brutal 5 speed transmission, and it was so loud to drive due to the exhaust / wind noise / constant downshifting.

Having had two Tacomas, I found the size / utility / looks of the 4R to be wildly superior. Massive improvements in interior dimensions and seating position.

However, neither of us drove it as she preferred my Tundra, and I drive my work truck primarily. So I traded it in on another 2020 Jeep SRT for me.

Seriously tho, the 4R is about perfect in every way besides the power train. If they would have the GX’s 4.6L / 6-speed in it, I’d have kept that rig forever. Very seriously considered keeping the 4R and supercharging it, but that would only solve the power issue and not address the transmission and excess noise.

If Toyota puts a couple more creature comforts into the redesigned 4R, and the rumored Lexus 500H’s hybrid 365hp/405ft motor and 6-speed (or more), I will absolutely get another.

I really like the 4Runner and would love one. I looked very seriously at them before buying my 3rd Gen, but I couldn't justify paying the same for a smaller underpowered SUV than I did for a crew cab pickup with power to spare.

    Instead of buying a 3rd Gen I bought my son's '17 Torsen diff 4runner with 53k Kilometers - keeping my '18 Tundra.
I now have a proper winter vehicle - pickups are shit for real winter. (for those that live in winter areas)
wife got tired of me borrowing her Outback.
Tons of 1st Class storage space with seats down and a rear window that goes down for the long items.
Cant stand the stupid running boards thats what the grab handle is for. oh well.
Anyone that complains about acceleration with a 4Runner - doesn't get what a 4Runner is about.
    I have owned 2 previous 4 Runners.
Got 24 mpg going to the summer property 3 weeks ago with it.
So far very happy with it.

If you're looking for a peppy truck, sadly I don't think a 4Runner is what you're looking for. That's probably my wife's biggest complaint with hers.

I saw someone call it a 4Walker the other day, and I thought the name was quite apt lmao

SiriusXM salesmen hate this one trick...

    Put it in perspective.
4Runner 0- 60 7.9 seconds. And it will climb over pretty much anything - slowly.
If its your wife's vehicle I would not want her taking corners at fast speed in a Tall Skinny SUV.

    The 1980 stock Camaro Z28 I owned with 350 engine (5.7 Liter) - 0 - 60 in 8.5 seconds.
And it will get stuck going over the Costco parking block.
