My Ridge Grapplers have about 29K on them and they sound like mud terrains now.

 

They are E rated...I can see the marking.

 

I’m on my second set and that’s been my experience with both. Put 30k miles on the first set before they got too noisy for me. I’m at 20k miles on the second set and the road noise is coming on strong. Rotated every 5k miles.

 

Same here. Definitely not sneaking up on a deer at 25 or 30 mph with these things.

 

New fairlead:

 

Installed the Baxter Performance oil filter adapter to go to a spin-on filter on the 5.7L V8. I had to go through a couple different oil filter sizes since the one they recommended was a little too long to work with the TRD skid plate - settled on the WIX 51085XP.

Initial review - pricey for sure, but honestly it’s worth it for me to be able to change filters easily and do an oil change in under 10 minutes compared to before having to clean the housing every time.

 

Yeesh. $280 is a lot of money for that.

 

Glad you figured out what filter fit... I have a Baxter adapter, I need a oil change and I am replacing the stock skid at the same time.
You may have just saved me a bunch of hassle!

 

I don't know a ton about oil filters, but don't they typically have a prescribed spring rate for the bypass? Is there a way to be sure that a screw-on wouldn't bypass incorrectly at a lower pressure?

Edit: genuinely curious, not trying to rain on your parade. Screw-ons are way easier imo!

 

Sounds like a legit concern to me, especially for the cost of that setup.

 

Does anyone know what the stock filter by-pass pressure is?

The Wix is By-Pass Valve Setting-PSI: 8-11

So if you are keeping a front sway bar, don’t get the filter I have - it’ll interfere with the sway bar. WIX 51384XP will fit but be a bit shorter and still fit with the TRD skid plate and sway bar. Or WIX 51516XP is what is recommended for a stock setup.

 

I did this plus color match door edge guards, which by the way were a pain to put on

 

Took a shortcut home after work. Would've been better if I had my 35s and a new front suspension on. Still no problem of course.

 

@RCIoffroad Transmission/Cat Skids installed.
Took about 80 minutes from assembly to finished. Only a few four letter words, but not as many as some posts made me believe.

 

ARB Summit Bumper. Baja Designs Fogs. TRD Pro LED headlights. Valhalla front engine skid to pair with the cat shields.

 

It’s a tongue, gray like a chow! And I’ve fixed and put the hook back on.

No mods today. I did hook up the camper to get it inspected at the RV center. I’m ready for some camping this year.

 

My son informed me earlier this week that he wanted to take the Tundra to prom, so this afternoon it got a bath.

I found 3 new chips in the grill surround.

 

Niiiice!! I tried to hold out for the RTs, but the lack of info through discount tire and the absurd (relative to the Falken wildpeak AT3W) pricing I was being quoted pushed me to give up and go with the AT3Ws. No regrets, but I really like how the sidewall looks on the RT01! If they review well in longevity, noise, wet traction, etc. I'll go for them when I get my next set.

 

thanks! is through a bracket that mount to the headliner and hooks to the panel…also got marine speakers in the front grill for outside entertainment…overall good balance of bass and treble. i really wanted more bass. but for 10s and the space avaialble cant really do much.

 

Looks awesome. Been thinking about a set myself. Where did you pick them up from?
