1.Do anyone know the factory tint # on these trucks (back windows and glass)?

    2. For those of you who tinted did you just match the factory (whatever that is)?
…or did you do everything to keep the back darker than the fronts?

Ok…looks like 24% here though the shop guy said 30% was the legal limit (close enough I guess).

Had 35 all around on my previous tundra though that % overlayed the factory tint at the back (making the back darker).

Was happy with that look but didn’t want to assume the 2016 and 2022 had the same factory specs

I ran into an issue with the dealer tinting on my 22. Dealer tint was the only "ADM option" over MSRP that I paid for, but I was fine with it since you 100% need tint to survive in Vegas.

The problem is my dealership no longer allows their tint techs to cut tint by hand and they said Toyota hasn't released the cutting machine specs for the new Double Cab windows yet. The 2 front door windows are essentially the same as the 2.5 Gen, but the 2 back doors and back glass are different sizes. They didn't have the specs in their tint cutting machine so I drove out with only the 2 front windows tinted and the backs with only the existing factory tint. Kind of a bummer. I call them every couple of weeks to see if they've got the specs in, but no joy yet.

Side note: The GM told me they stopped allowing their tint techs to cut tint by hand after they had to replace a bunch of windows on 2021 Venzas that got scratched. Oof. BIG Oof.

I tinted the fronts at 20% and it matches the factory tint very nicely.

I did 20% ceramic on the front doors, and 70% on the whole windshield, back doors, and back window. It matches very well with the factory tint. Here is a link to the tint thread with more discussion on the topic, and a picture of what mine looks like.

20% is not legal in my state, but I personally have never been bothered about it.

Awesome thanks man. Yea I’m not worried about the legal aspect haha gonna do 20% ceramic on front. You did 70% ceramic clear on the windshield? For heat resistance?

I did 30% xpel xr all around. Brings the front down to about 25%ish, which is legal in Texas.

Back looks a lot darker, but here is something highly suggested:

Get ceramic on the pano roof. I did a 70% xpel xr and really can’t feel the heat in the Texas sun.

If you somewhere like Texas where you need to have a windshield vehicle registration sticker, you may have to take the truck back to the tint shop every year to have them take off the sticker and put the new one on.

Yeah. It really helps. And you can't even tell there is tint on there at all.

Yea I’m here in Texas. I know of an inspection shop where some people go to get passed. I’m going with the completely uniform look. Didn’t think to do the pano roof I’ll do that too. Thanks for idea
